B. Review
How do we use water in our daily activities?
C. Motivation
The teacher will show a gif of Earth’s model.
Remember that 75% of earth’s surface is filled with water and 25% of the earth is covered with land.
Motive Questions
Do you think the amount of water on earth increase or even decrease since its existence?
Value Integration
Do you turn the faucet off when not in use?
What do we need to do to prevent water shortage?
D. Discussion
Where does the rain come from?
Give me an example where can water be found on earth?
Can someone describe to everyone what have you seen in this picture?
Water cycle is like a recycling program that repeats its process. Water cycle is the process by which
water moves from the place above, on, and below the earth’s surface.
Water cycle has three stages. Do you know what are those?
The students will watch a video about the first stage of water cycle.
I will play again the video and I want you to imagine that the stove represents the sun, the pot
represents the earth, and it has water in it. Observe what will happen.
The students will discuss to everyone what he has observed in the video.
Evaporation occurs when water on the earth such as in seas, ocean, rivers, lakes, ponds is heated by a
sun, it will change from liquid (water) to a gas (smoke or water vapor).
The students will watch video about the second stage of water cycle.
Condensation occurs when water changers from a gas (smoke or water vapor) back into liquid (water)
forming the clouds in the sky.
When will you know if the process is condensation?
The students will watch video for the last stage of water cycle.
Here is a video summary of the water cycle for you to fully understand the lesson.
Class, remember that once the water has fallen back to the ground, it is heated again by the sun and
the cycle continues. That is why the amount of water in earth’s surface remains the same.
I prepared a mnemonic strategy using hand gestures for you to easily understand and remember the
stages of water cycle. Just repeat after me.
E. Application
1. Guided Practice
Group Activity (2 minutes)
CREATING WATER CYCLE
The students will group into 4 and each group will create a model of water cycle using a
sandwich bag, marker, tape, paper, water, and food color (blue). Each group must follow the
mechanics of the activity being flashed on the board. Once done, the group will present their
work by explaining the differences of each stages of water cycle base on their group’s
observation.

2. Independent Practice
Direction: Label each step in the water cycle using the words placed above the illustration.
Precipitation Condensation
Cycle Evaporation
F. Generalization
How many stages are there in a water cycle?
What are the three stages of water cycle?
IV. Evaluation
Direction: Identify the cycle stage describe in each sentence. Write the correct answer on the space
before the number. Choose your answer in the box.
__________________ 1. It is the process wherein the water falls back to earth; it may go in the oceans,
lakes, or rivers.
__________________ 2. The sun heats up water in seas, rivers, lakes and turns it into smoke or water
vapor and rises into the air.
__________________ 3. The water moves from place to place above, on and below the earth surface.
__________________ 4. The clouds get heavy, and water falls back to the earth in the form of rain,
hail or snow.
__________________ 5. The water vapor or smoke in the air gets cold and changes back to liquid into
tiny drops of water forming clouds.
V. Assignment
Direction: Make a collage of a water cycle illustrating its 3 stages.
