8 Gradual Stages of Human Downfall.

BHAGAVAD GITA: CHAPTER 2,


VERSE 62
"Attachment leads to desire, and from desire
arises anger".

From the moment we are born, we are hardwired


to attach to others.

In the Vedic scriptures: Anger, greed, lust, etc.


are considered mānas rog, or diseases of the
mind.

We are all aware of the diseases of the body. One


single bodily ailment has the power to make the
entire day miserable—but we do not realize that
we are being continuously tormented by multiple
emotional ailments. And since we do not
recognize lust, anger, greed, etc. as mental
diseases, we do not try to master them.

Psychology is a branch of human knowledge that
attempts to analyze these ailments and propose

to them.

In this verse 62, perfect insight into the


functioning of the mind has been given.

Stage 1: People turn on casual thinking but then


continually ponder that sense object for
happiness.

Stage 2: The mind becomes attached to that


sense object. The problem is that attachment
will increase.

Stage 3: From attachment comes desire.


Say, for example

If one is attached to drinks, the desire for


drinks comes repeatedly to the mind. If one is
attached to cigarettes, then thoughts of the
pleasure of smoking cigarettes continually flow
into the mind, In this way, attachment leads to
desire.

Stage 4: Desire becomes a demand

Stage 5: Once desire develops into demands, it
gives birth to two more problems—anger and
greed. If the fulfillment of desire is prevented, It

gives rise to anger. Accept in mind that anger


does not happen by itself. It is created from the
resistance of desire. An alert person knows the
consequences of anger.

Stage 6: On the flip side, Greed comes from the


fulfillment of desire. “If you satisfy desire, it leads
to greed". desire is never eliminated by fulfilling
it: “If one person gets all the wealth, luxuries, and
sensual objects in the world, still that person’s
desire would not be satisfied. Hence, knowing the
line between greed and contentment is crucial.

Stage 7: The twin diseases of greed and anger,


hypnotize your emotions. Emotions hypnotize
your judgment. Emotions lead to a delusional
perception of reality and prevent us from seeing
things objectively.

Stage 8: These negative emotions start narrowing


our focus and ability to see the potential
downside of a decision. This often leads to the
destruction of your intellect and spiritual self

This cognitive technique involves moving


your eyes a specific way while you process
distressing memories.

The goal is to help you learn from


distressing life experiences

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Create a memory that caused you Discomfort
or Anger [ you can use the memory of other
negative emotions too]
2. Check and give a number on a scale of 1-10,
How much is the discomfort? [ 1 is minimum
discomfort and 10 is maximum]
3. Rapid move eyes in all kinds of directions.
Only Eyes will move, No Head. [up, right, left,
down, sideways, infinity, and coming to the
center]
4. check on a scale of 0-10, How much is the
discomfort?
5. Repeat step 3, till the negative emotional
charge gets reduced to a minimum threshold
level of 1 or lower.
6. once it is reduced to the minimum threshold,
consider that last thought as the core
emotional issue of learning.
7. Accept your learning. Figure out your limited
learning belief or it could be an enhanced
learning belief that you need to install in
your psychology.
