Santos Engineering Standard SPECIFICATION 1515-50-S002-0, Rev 1 Page 4 of 6 3.4 Chemical Properties and Tests Chemical composition shall meet requirements of standards listed in Section 2. Manufacturers shall furnish Santos with a report giving product analysis of the finished pipe prior to shipment of pipe. 3.5 Mechanical Properties and Tests Written reports of all mechanical property tests shall be furnished to Santos prior to shipment of pipe. 3.6 Hydrostatic Tests End seals used for mill hydrostatic test shall not obstruct the test pipe for more than 75 mm unless otherwise approved by Santos. Each pipe shall be visually inspected for leaks. Test pressure shall develop a hoop stress equal to 90% of specified minimum yield stress, up to a maximum test pressure of 20.7 MPag. Test pressure shall be held for a minimum duration of 10 seconds. Pipe shall be dried after hydrostatic testing. Verification of Hydrostatic Test Each test gauge and/or recorder shall be calibrated at commencement of production and at least once per shift using a master gauge calibrated by certified dead weight tester. Recalibration is required at commencement of production and at least once per week. The calibration shall be recorded. A permanent record of each test shall be produced showing pipe identification, test pressure and hold time. If a pressure recorder is found to be out of calibration by more than 3%, all pipe tested since the previously acceptable calibration shall be retested. Pipe Designers and Manufacturers shall note that plant hydrostatic tests are carried out for Santos by others. These are generally in accordance with ASME B31.3. Further detail is provided in Santos specifications 1515-120-S018 Pressure Testing Process and Utility Piping, and 1515-120-S019 Pressure Testing Pipelines.

Santos Engineering Standard SPECIFICATION 1515-50-S002-0, Rev 1 Page 5 of 6 3.7 Finish of Ends Pipe Ends - Pipe DN 40 and smaller shall be furnished with plain ends. Pipe DN 50 and larger shall be bevelled for welding. Unless otherwise specified, root face width shall be 1.6 mm 0.5 mm. The root face shall be perpendicular to the pipe axis with a tolerance of 3 degrees or 1 mm. Pipe end squareness shall be inspected by measuring the plane of the pipe end across 3 diameters. Filing or grinding of non-complying root faces is not permitted the entire bevel shall be re-machined. Any internal grinding necessary at the pipe ends in association with bevelling operation shall be controlled to ensure that final pipe wall thickness after grinding is not less than the minimum specified. Bevel Protectors - Pipes DN 300 and larger require supply and fitting of bevel protectors, unless handling methods are shown not to damage bevels. 3.8 Weld Inspection Stainless steel material Methods of Inspection - After hydrostatic testing, all longitudinal welds shall be inspected ultrasonically. Equipment (Ultrasonic Inspection) - Automated ultrasonic test equipment and operating procedures shall be approved by Santos. Each procedure shall describe all details of the inspection technique including, but not limited to, reference standard, calibration, transducer properties and sensitivity. During production equipment shall be calibrated at least once per shift and also immediately prior to major breaks in productions runs, such as stop-works, holidays, or conclusion of production. On no account shall any control be adjusted from the setting used in production since the last calibration. 3.9 Visual Inspection, Workmanship and Repair of Defects Visual Inspection - Surface imperfections shall be acceptable without dressing only if their extent can be readily assessed by visual examination by Santos. Burrs and sharp projections shall be removed from the outside surface of the pipe by grinding. Where burrs, seams, scabs, roll marks, sharp scratches, or other damage or flaws of unknown depth are found, Manufacturer shall perform exploratory grinding until extent of the defect is known before offering the pipe for inspection or repair. Compliance - Manufacturer shall undertake inspection to confirm compliance with workmanship requirements. Workmanship shall be construed as including all surface defects whether inherent in the steel making process, resulting from the pipe mill, or howsoever caused. Manufacturer shall perform visual inspection of both bevels, the pipe bore from both ends, and the surface of the pipe. Workmanship and Defects Repair of Defects by Welding Repair of defects in pipe parent metal by welding is prohibited.

Santos Engineering Standard SPECIFICATION 1515-50-S002-0, Rev 1 Page 6 of 6 Repair of defects in pipe weld seam by welding is prohibited. 3.10 Reporting Manufacturer shall provide a certificate of compliance stating that material has been manufactured, sampled, tested, and inspected in accordance with requirements of standards listed in Section 2, and has been found to meet all requirements. Manufacturer shall provide reports and summaries for production performance and testing operations in conformance with a manufacturing schedule accepted by Santos. A dispatch record shall be supplied that uniquely identifies each pipe number, length and mass. 3.11 Transportation Handling, loading and shipping procedures shall comply with Santos Package Specification and requirements of standards listed in Section 2. Supplied pipe and valve products shall be coated to manufacturers standard. Minimum requirements are temporary rust preventive that will last 3 to 6 months and accommodate sea voyage. All coating materials shall comply with manufacturers MSDS's, be non toxic, and as applicable, have minimal levels of impurities such as lead, tin or zinc to avoid injury to personnel or product during coating removal, fabrication or welding. 4.0 REVISION NOTES Revision 1 Document updated (January 2009) as part of continuous improvement. All changes are for improved useability and no technical changes have been made since the last revision. Revision 0 New Specification, companion based on 1515-50-S004 & S005. Santos Engineering Standard SPECIFICATION 1515-50-S002-0, Rev 1 - Appendix Page 1 of 1 PROCUREMENT REQUIREMENTS Suppliers are required to have appropriate systems in place to demonstrate their activities are consistent with Santos policies and business objectives. Santos Acceptance of Pipe, Valves and Fittings All items shall be sourced from reputable manufacturers within the Oil & Gas industry. For manufacturers accredited to ISO 9001 and/or ISO 9002 and/or API Q1 (linepipe): Materials may be sourced from all locations including Mainland China or Taiwan. For manufacturers not accredited to the above quality standards: Santos will not accept material sources from Mainland China. Santos will not accept material sources from Taiwan. Materials sourced from all other locations require internationally recognised equivalent to ISO accreditation. These requirements do not remove the responsibility of suppliers or contractors to supply material in accordance with Santos Specifications, and to file, retain and issue nominated certificates against each item and Santos Purchase Order Number. Required certificates are: Material property and chemical analysis for pipe and fittings by heat, and Hydrostatic test certificate for pipe and fittings by item. Material property and chemical analysis for valves by batch, and Hydrostatic test certificate for valves by valve or batch. Asbestos free certification. Suppliers of materials from Mainland China and Taiwan shall provide details to Santos that ISO 9000 manufacturer quality controls are in place. Suppliers of materials from locations that deviate from ISO accreditation must provide details to Santos that necessary manufacturer quality controls are in place. Santos may periodically audit the supplier or manufacturer to confirm that all systems comply with Quality Control Certification.
