4- EQUIPMENT OPERATION

THE UNIT IS OPERATED FROM THE HVAC CONTROL PANEL THROUGH THE
RELEVANT HAND-OFF-AUTO (H-O-A) SELECTOR SWITCHES WHICH GIVES THE
FOLLOWING SELECTIONS:

HAND MODE: THE UNIT IS ENERGIZED MANUALLY FROM THE CONTROL PANEL
OFF MODE: THE UNIT IS DE-ENERGIZED.
AUTO MODE: THE DUTY/STAND BY UNIT IS AUTOMATICALLY SELECTED
BY THE DDC CONTROLLER

THE SELECTED DUTY UNIT IS ENERGIZED AND DE-ENERGIZED AUTOMATICALLY

ACCORDING TO THE TIME AS PROGRAMMED. DDC CONTROLLER ALTERNATES
THE DUTY/STANDBY UNITS ACCORDING TO RUNNING HOURS LIMITS (200
HOURS) OR AS REQUIRED. DDC CONTROLLER OPERATES THE STANDBY UNIT
AUTOMATICALLY UPON FAILURE OF THE DUTY UNIT DUE TO:

- EVAPORATOR FAN TRIP - COMPRESSOR HIGH PRESSURE

- EVAPORATOR FAN BELT FAILURE - COMPRESSOR LOW PRESSURE
- COND. FAN TRIP - COMPRESSOR TRIP.
- POWER FAILURE. - NO AIRFLOW.

A RESET ALARM SWITCH IS PROVIDED ON THE CONTROL PANEL TO

RESET THE SYSTEM WHEN THE ABOVE-MENTIONED FAULTS ARE
CLEARED AND THE SYSTEM GOES BACK TO THE DUTY UNIT. UPON
SYSTEM ENERGIZATION, THE FIRE/SMOKE MOTORIZED DAMPERS AND
RESPECTIVE MOTORIZED VOLUME DAMPER OF THE DUTY UNIT OPEN
FIRST AND WHEN THE OPENING OF THE DAMPER IS PROVED BY THE
END SWITCH, THE FAN STARTS. THE MOTORIZED VOLUME DAMPER OF
THE STANDBY UNIT WILL REMAIN CLOSED.

A VISUAL AND AUDIBLE INDICATION FOR SMOKE ALARM IS PROVIDED ON THE

HVAC CONTROL PANEL.

WHENEVER SMOKE IS DETECTED BY FACP, IT WILL TRANSMIT ALARM SIGNAL

TO HVAC DDC PANEL TO SHUT DOWN THE SYSTEM. THE PURGING OPERATION
WILL START MANUALLY BY DEPRESSING THE REMOTELY LOCATED SWITCH.
THE DOORS OF THE ROOMS SHALL BE OPENED FOR FRESH AIR INTAKE. ALL THE
MF/SD'S SHALL BE FULLY CLOSED EXCEPT SMOKE PURGE FAN DAMPERS. AFTER
COMPLETION OF PURGING PROCESS, THE PURGING FAN SHALL BE SWITCHED
OFF MANUALLY AND HVAC SYSTEM SHALL START AUTOMATICALLY IN
NORMAL MODE UPON CLEARING THE SIGNAL FROM FACP, WHICH WILL BE DONE
AFTER CLEARANCE OF FIRE AND SAFETY DEPARTMENT.

SPF SHALL NOT RUN WHEN ANY OF THE PACU'S ARE RUNNING. ALSO INCASE OF
CLEAN AGENT DISCHARGE SPF SHALL NOT SWITCH ON FOR 30 MINUTES AFTER
THE DISCHARGE.

7- TEMPERATURE CONTROL:

(A) COOLING:
SPACE CONDITIONS ARE MEASURED BY A ROOM MOUNTED DIGITAL
THERMOSTAT AND THE TEMPERATURE MEASURED VALUES ARE TRANSMITTED
TO THE DDC CONTROLLER VIA ANALOG INPUT MODULE WHICH COMPARES THE
ACTUAL VALUES WITH THE REQUIRED SET POINT. IF THE TEMPERATURE IS
HIGHER THAN THE SET POINT, THE DDC CONTROLLER ENERGIZES THE LEAD
COMPRESSOR VIA DIGITAL OUTPUT MODULE. WHEN FURTHER COOLING IS
REQUIRED, THE SECOND COMPRESSOR WILL BE ENERGIZED AS WELL BOTH THE
COMPRESSORS WILL RUN UNTIL THE SET POINT IS ACHIEVED. THE
TEMPERATURE SET POINT SELECTION IS DONE ON THE LOCAL USER INTERFACE
(POT) PROVIDED ON THE HVAC CONTROL PANEL.

(B) HEATING:

WHEN THE ROOM TEMPERATURE IS BELOW THE SET POINT OF THE MAIN
CONTROLLER, 1ST STAGE HEATING WILL ENERGIZE AND THE 2ND/3RD STAGE
HEATING WILL ENERGIZE AS WELL WHEN FURTHER HEATING IS REQUIRED.
HEATER(S) WILL RUN UNTIL THE DESIRED SET POINT IS ACHIEVED. REFER TO
SET POINTS.

(C) DEHUMIDIFICATION CONTROL:

SPACE AIR HUMIDITY CONDITIONS ARE MEASURED BY A ROOM MOUNTED

TEMPERATURE/HUMIDITY DETECTOR AND THE MEASURED HUMIDITY VALUES
ARE TRANSMITTED TO THE DDC CONTROLLER VIA ANALOG MODULE.
THE CONTROLLER COMPARES THE ACTUAL VALUES WITH REQUIRED HUMIDITY
VALUES (50%) AND IF THE HUMIDITY IS HIGHER, THE CONTROLLER OVERRIDES
THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL PROCESS AND OPERATES THE COMPRESSORS TO
DEHUMIDIFY THE AIR TO MAINTAIN THE SET POINT (ADJUSTABLE 0-100%). AS
SELECTED ON THE LOCAL USER INTERFACE ON HVAC CONTROL PANEL. THE
ELECTRIC DUCT HEATERWILL OPERATE ACCORDINGLY TO INCREASE THE
TEMPERATURE UNTIL IT SATISFIES BOTH TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY SET
VALUES.

8- FOLLOWING SWITCHES & INDICATION SHALL BE PROVIDED IN CONTROL

PANEL:

A. AIR FILTER DIRTY:

DIRTY FILTER CONDITIONS ARE DETECTED BY THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE

SWITCHES INSTALLED ACROSS THE FILTERS ARE TRANSMITTED TO THE DDC
CONTROLLER VIA DIGITAL INPUT MODULE. IF THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE
SETTING IS REACHED, THE LED IS ILLUMINATED ON THE DIGITAL INPUT
MODULE/MONITORING ON THE LOCAL USER INTERFACE. AS WELL AS VISUAL
ALARM ON THE HVAC CONTROL PANEL TO INDICATE THAT THE FILTER IS
DIRTY.

B. NO AIRFLOW/FAN BELT FAILURE:

AIR FLOW FAILURE DUE TO BROKEN FAN BELT IS DETECTED BY THE

DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SWITCHES INSTALLED ACROSS EACH FAN AND THE
