Information guidelines
for

7 State Level Selection Test (Assistant Teacher), 2023

The West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission will conduct the 7th State Level
Selection Test (Assistant Teacher), 2023 [7th SLST(AT), 2023] for recruitment in 1729 tentative
vacancies for the posts of Assistant Teachers for classes IX-X & classes XI-XII and TET (Advance
Arabic, Arabic for classes V-VIII and Arabic UG for classes I-IV) in non-Government, Aided
Madrasahs of West Bengal as per West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission Recruitment
(Selection and Recommendation of persons for Appointment and Transfer to the Posts of Teacher and
Non-Teaching Staff) Rules, 2023 and as per NCTE guidelines.

A. AGE CRITERIA of the Applicants:


General Category: Minimum: 21 years as on 01.01.2023 (i.e., not born after
01.01.2002) Maximum: 40 years as on 01.01.2023 (i.e., not born before 01.01.1983)
Relaxation of Maximum age for SC/ST/PH (Disability 40% and above) Candidates:
Maximum age: 45 years as on 01.01.2023 (i.e., not born before 01.01.1978)
Relaxation of Maximum age for OBC Candidates: Maximum: 43 years as on
01.01.2023 (i.e., not born before 01.01.1980).

B. MODE OF SELECTION:
1. Selection ofUnder Graduate Teachers for Classes I-IV:
a) TET examination (OMR-MCQ) will be conducted as per following subject and Marks (Pass marks-
60%):

i) Child Development and Pedagogy 30 marks


ii) Language-I 30 marks
iii) Language- II 30 marks
iv) Subject Test (Arabic) 30 marks

v) Environmental Studies 30 marks

Total 150 marks

b) Eligibility: Passed Fazil / Higher Secondary with Arabic as an elective subject with 50% marks
along-with D.El.Ed. / B.Ed. duly recognized by NCTE.
c) Candidates, after passing TET will have to sit for Main Examination

2) Selection of Graduate Teachers for Classes V- VIII:
a) TET examination (OMR-MCQ) will be conducted as per following subject and Marks (Pass marks-
60%):

i) Child Development and Pedagogy 30 marks


ii) Language-I 30 marks
iii) Language- II 30 marks
iv) Arabic / Advance Arabic Theology 60 marks
Total 150 marks

b) Eligibility: Graduate or Post Graduate with 50% marks with B.Ed. or Graduate or Post Graduate with
45% marks with B.Ed. before 29.07.2011.
c) Candidates, after passing TET will have to sit for Main Examination

Main Examination (OMR-MCQ) 90 marks

3) Selection of Graduate Teachers for Classes IX-X:

Main Examination (OMR-MCQ) 90 marks


a) Eligibility:
i) Graduate or Post Graduate with 50% marks with B.Ed. or Graduate or Post Graduate with 45% marks
with B.Ed. before 29.07.2011.
ii) Studied 300 marks in concerned subject

4) Selection of Post Graduate Teachers for Classes XI-XII:

Main Examination (OMR -MCQ) 90 marks


a) Eligibility: Post Graduate in concerned subject with 50% marks with B.Ed., or, Post Graduate in
concerned subject with 45% marks with B.Ed. before 29.07.2011.

Note:
1. Candidates will be called for interview as per merit on the basis of marks obtained in the Main
Examination.
2. Number of candidates called for interview will be 1.5 times of the Final Vacancies in concerned subject
and category
3. Marks of TET will not be taken into consideration for preparation and publication of Final Merit List.
4. Final Panel will be prepared as per merit on the basis of total of marks obtained in Main Examination
and Interview.
5. Number of candidates empanelled will be equal to the number of the Final Vacancies in concerned

subject and category
6. Number of candidates in the Waiting List will be 0.1 time of the Final Vacancy in concerned subject
and category
7. No mark-sheet shall be issued to the candidates
8. TET Qualified Certificate will be issued as per NCTE Guidelines and as per convenience of the West
Bengal Madrasah Service Commission.
9. All questions in TET and Main Examination will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying
one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.
10. Candidates will have to mark only one option out of 4 options. Marking more than one option of any
question will lead to non-evaluation of that particular question.
11. There will be negative marking for wrong choice of option. One mark will be deducted for every 2 wrong
answers.
12. A Candidate can apply for one category and in one subject only either for I-IV or for V-VIII or for IX-X or
for XI-XII

13. Providing incorrect or false information will lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage of
recruitment process or even after recruitment. Legal action will be initiated against the candidates in
such cases

14. Candidates applying for Madrasah with particular language as medium must have that language of
the medium as first or second or third language of at least 100 marks at any of the Secondary level
or Higher Secondary or Graduation level.
15. Candidates finally recommended for Graduate Category of Posts (Classes – IX-X) or (V-VIII) will be
eligible for Graduate scale of pay as applicable and NOT Post Graduate Scale of Pay, even if they have
Post Graduate degree(s)
16. Qualification will be as on last date of application

C.TEST CENTRES: Applicants will be informed of the Test Centres by Admit Card through Commissions
website i.e., www.wbmsc.com

D. FEES STRUCTURE: Examination Fees (TET & Subject) is Rs. 500/- for candidates belonging to
General category and Rs.250/- for candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped (PH) category.
