Mahatma Gandhi was a significant political and spiritual leader in India who
played a key role in the country's struggle for independence from British rule. He
was born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, Gujarat, India, and was known for
his philosophy of nonviolence and belief in civil disobedience as a means of
resistance.
Gandhi was deeply committed to ahimsa, or nonviolence, and used this
philosophy to inspire and guide his political activism. He believes everyone
should be treated with dignity and respect regardless of caste, religion, or
ethnicity. Gandhi was heavily involved in the Indian independence movement
and was a key figure in organizing the civil resistance campaign against British
rule. He was arrested many times for his activism and spent seven years in prison.
Gandhi remained a powerful and influential figure despite his imprisonment, and
his ideas and strategies were instrumental in India's independence in 1947. After
independence, Gandhi continued to work for social justice and equality in India,
especially for the rights of the "untouchables," a marginalized group in Hindu
society. He was assassinated on January 30, 1948, by a Hindu nationalist who
opposed Gandhi's efforts to promote harmony between Hindus and Muslims.
Despite his untimely death, Gandhi's legacy lives on, and he is remembered as a
hero and symbol of peace and nonviolence.

I had an experience that strengthened me and made me a more resilient
person. It happened in 2022 during a Chemistry lesson.
I was not keen to find out information such as mixing sodium hydroxide,
NaOH, with Copper Nitrate, Cu(No₃)₂ to get Sodium Nitrate, NaNO₃, a colorless
liquid and Copper Hydroxide, Cu(OH)₂, a blue precipitate. I could not see how
this can help me in the real world – neither did the teacher try to explain it to
me. In my ignorant mind, they were meaningless facts that have no relevance in
my life.
Instead of paying attention in class, I was having a distilled water (H₂O)
battle with my friends. We were trying to cleanse each other with pure water.
We were mixing unfamiliar liquids and powders with different materials to see
if we can invent a life-changing chemical. We loved to see the color change and
strange-looking smoke coming out from the test tubes.
My teacher was very angry with us for not paying attention to the lesson. I
realized we were wrong. I should have been more disciplined and paid more
attention in class. Many of the lessons might not have short-term benefits but
they have long-term values to improve lives and the world.

Once upon a time, there was a poor boy called Jack. He lived with his mother.
All they had was a cow. One morning, Jack’s mother told Jack to sell their cow.
On the way, Jack met a man. He gave Jack some magic beans for the cow. Jack
took the beans and went back home. When Jack’s mother saw the beans, she was
very angry. She threw the beans out of the window. The next morning, Jack
looked out of the window. There was a giant beanstalk. He went outside and
started to climb the beanstalk.
He climbed up to the sky through the clouds. Jack saw a beautiful castle. He
went inside. Jack heard a voice and ran into a cupboard. An enormous giant came
into the room and sat down. On the table, there was a hen and a golden harp.
‘Lay!’ said the giant. The hen laid an egg. It was made of gold. ‘Sing!’ said the
giant. The harp began to sing. Soon the giant was asleep.
Jack jumped out of the cupboard. He took the hen and the harp. Suddenly, the
harp sang, ‘Help, master!’ The giant woke up and shouted, ‘Fee, fi, fo, fum!’
Jack ran and started climbing down the beanstalk. The giant came down after
him. Jack shouted, ‘Mother! Help!’ Jack’s mother took an axe and chopped down
the beanstalk. The giant fell and crashed to the ground. Nobody ever saw him

on the ground. Overjoyed by the good luck, they all prepared to feast on them.
Their leader warned them, “Wait! There cannot be so much food on the

I had just finished my vacation and was traveling from my home to my
college. I was comfortably sitting in my seat and gazing out happily when a
couple of elderly approached me.
At first, I didn't pay much attention but soon became curious about the
seriousness of their tone. The old lady recently had a hip operation and was
traveling with her husband but they had separated seats. She was very scared
to travel alone as she had a lot of difficulties even getting up or sitting down.
Her husband was trying to calm her down but with no luck.
I got up and offered them my seat so that they could sit side by side.
They were surprised by my offer and politely tried to decline it but I insisted.
The elderly lady had a gleaming look in her eyes and was giving the widest
grin I had ever seen. She blessed me a hundred times and so did her husband.
