● Topic : PEST Analysis
This work is about writing an external analysis. Find some issues and background about
the company where you work or worked. Then, make a chart about PEST analysis and
support each of the items described.

1. Introduction
1.1 Introduction
Samsung is a South Korean company, positioned as one of the largest
producers of electronic devices worldwide. His specialty is the
production of personal and industrial consumer electronics.
1.2 Origin
Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-Chull on 1 March 1938 in South
Korea, and began selling noodles by exporting its noodle product to
China.
Samsung first entered the electronics industry in 1969 with several
electronics divisions, its first products were black and white TVs. During
the 1970s, the company began exporting domestic products abroad.
«At that time, Samsung was already a major manufacturer in Korea and
had acquired a 50 percent stake in Korea Semiconductor», says
Britannia.
2. PEST Analysis
2.1 Political environment
In the case of Samsung, its taxes and fees paid to the governments of
Korea and other countries and its subsidiaries in 2012 increased by
67.0% compared to a baseline of 2011. Samsung Electronics pays 65%
of the total taxes and fees for the Korean government, which is home to
the corporate headquarters.
In most markets where Samsung operates, the political environment is
conducive to its operations.
However, in recent months he has faced significant political obstacles
in his home country, South Korea, due to the country’s tensions with
North Korea, in which the company has had to take into account not
only political instability, but also the threat on the Korean peninsula.
Samsung presented its new Sustainability Report on 28 June, covering
the efforts made in 2020, including highlights in each of the following

2.4 Technology
2.4.1 Introductions of new products by 2023
Research and development: Samsung invests large amounts of
money in research and development (R&D) to keep up with the
latest trends and technological advances.
Samsung Electronics will present its latest products, such as the
Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy Book3 Ultra at the Mobile World
Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain from 27 February to 2
March 2023. To celebrate the launch of its latest products,
Samsung will be on full display with advertisements for the
Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Book3 series and Galaxy family of
devices in marquee locations at Fira Barcelona Gran Via
including the mega billboard, main entrance and exterior flag
poles and hanging banners.
