Introduction
Disaster and Disaster Risk are two terms that must be distinguished from each other.
After the event, a disaster may occur and the losses like total number of deaths,
injuries, damaged structures, displaced people and damaged properties can be
determined.
Learning Activity
4. Students will watch videos about Luzon Earthquake and CDO (Cagayan de Oro)
flood.
5. They were then asked about classification of disasters and how they can
describe a disaster based on its occurrence and effects to different sectors of the
community.
6. Discussions on concepts about disasters and hazards will then commence using
Canva highlighting some examples of prominent disasters that happened in the
Philippines.
7. Using peardeck, students will then identify the hazards and possible disasters
given the pictures to be provided.
9. As evaluation, students will then be asked to create a short essay about hazards
at home, including pictures and illustration of the hazards found in their homes.
