S On aircraft incorporating AFC−578 gauge
error tolerance may be calculated by the
following method: For tanks No. 1 through
No. 4 multiply gauge reading by .02 then
add 85 pounds to the result. For tank #5
multiply gauge reading by .02 then add
135 to the result.

CAUTION: Initial activation of ground air conditioning at
the full cold Temperature Selection can
cause Air Multiplier compressor surge that
may lead to compressor failure and reduced
Air Multiplier life. Initial activation of ground
air conditioning utilizing the APU/Air
Multiplier shall be made with the FLT STA
and CABIN selector-indicators in the Manual
Mode at the One-Dot position or warmer.
After the system has stabilized (defined as a
steady discharge indication on the Cabin Air
compressor Inlet-Discharge pressure
gauge), cooler temperature selections may
be made one system (FLT STA or CABIN) at
a time. The maximum amount of change
should be no greater than two needle widths
of the FLT STA or CABIN selector-Indicator.
Additional changes may be made one
system (FLT STA or CABIN) at a time after
each system is stabilized (defined as a
steady discharge indication on the Cabin Air
Compressor Inlet-Discharge pressure
gauge).

CAUTION: In BOOST ON with hydraulic pressure
applied and with the control column full aft,
movement of the rudder pedals rapidly
against the limit stops can cause control
surfaces to deflect sufficiently to damage the
elevator force link tab and the rudder skin
panels.
(4) Brakes:
(a) release parking brake and operate
each brake pedal individually; have
OBS verify that each brake adjuster
pin moves relative to it’s adjuster
assembly bushing, while the brakes
are applied and released.

NOTE: Leakage of the Fuel Crossfeed Valve may result
in a pressure build-up on the Fuel Management
Gauge even when the valves are closed. A slow
pressure build up is indicative of a worn molded
seal and must be replaced as soon as practical
but not later than the next ISIS inspection. A
rapid pressure rise may indicate a serious leak
and shall be corrected. Significant overnight
transfer of fuel in a static system may be
indicative of faulty crossfeed housing seals or
improperly aligned crossfeed housing and
requires investigation.
