Executive Summary

This internship report provides an overview of my experience as an intern at Royal water


Company from 15th December to 30th December 2022. The objectives of the internship were
to gain practical work experience in the field of marketing, to develop my communication and
team-working skills, and to understand the operations of a company

During my internship, I was responsible for a range of tasks, including quality in charged and
in production . I worked closely with the production team and gained valuable insights into
product manufacturing, project management, and communication. I also had the opportunity
to work with various departments, including sales, account development, and customer service,
which helped me understand the overall operations of the company.

As a result of the internship, I developed a range of skills, including communication, time


management, and problem-solving. I learned how to work collaboratively with team members
and developed a deeper understanding of marketing practices and industry trends.

1. INTRODUCTION

This report describes my experience during my internship at the Royal water a packed drinking
water bottle company. During my internship, I was assigned to the production department,
where I worked alongside experienced professionals in the production of water bottles. The
report provides an overview of the company's background, its mission and vision, the
company's structure, the production process, quality control, and marketing strategies. The
report concludes with recommendations for improvement.

Royal Water Plant Pvt. Ltd. being a largely industrial enterprise to a more consumer-focused
entity, creating enduring value for its consumers through a wide range of solutions - products
and services. Royal Water Plant Pvt.Ltd precedes largely comes from brands across products
and services in the area of Packaged Drinking Water and allied products. Royal water plant
having 2 units at Madurai with the capacity of 18000 Lts/ Hour.

2. Company Background
The water bottle company is a leading producer of water bottles. The company was founded in
2018 and has since grown to become one of the most successful water bottle manufacturers in
the Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The company has a global presence, with production
facilities in multiple areas and sales in over 10 different distract in Andhra Pradesh.

3. Mission and Vision


The company's mission is to provide high-quality water bottles and other drinking containers
that are safe, sustainable, and affordable. The company's vision is to be a global leader in the
production of water bottles and to make a positive impact on the environment and society.

4. Company Structure
The company has a hierarchical structure, with the MD at the top, followed by the executive
team, and then the various departments. The departments include production, sales and
marketing, research and development, and finance. Each department is headed by a
departmental manager who reports to the MD.

5. Production Process
The production process begins with the procurement of raw materials. The company uses high-
quality materials, including BPA-free plastic, stainless steel, and glass, to ensure the safety and
durability of its products. The materials are then transported to the production facility, where
they are stored until they are needed for production.

The production process is divided into several stages, including molding, trimming, assembly,
and packaging. The molding stage involves the use of specialized machinery to mold the raw
materials into the desired shape. The trimming stage involves removing any excess material
from the molded product. The assembly stage involves the joining of the various components
of the water bottle, including the cap, the body, and the base. The packaging stage involves the
packing of the finished products into boxes, ready for distribution

Royal Water-Packaged Drinking Water

Packaged drinking water means water derived from any source of potable water which may be
subjected to treatments such as, decantation, filtration, combination of filtrations, aeration,
filtration with membrane filter, depth filter, cartridge filter, activated carbon filtration,
demineralization, remineralization, reverse osmosis or any other method to meet the prescribed
standard and packed. It may be disinfected to a level that will not lead to harmful contamination
in the drinking water.

The potable water used for production of RoyaI packaged drinking water is water derived from
source of Bore well. Supply of such water is getting through pipelinesto process.Processed
water disinfected by physical methods to control the micro-organisms to a level that does not
compromise food safety. Various means adopted for disinfection include Ozonization,
Ultraviolet treatment.

The processed water shall be filled in sealed containers of various types/sizes/shapes made
from the plastic materials permitted under BIS, suitable for direct consumption without further
treatment. The filling & packing of the processed water shall be in containers which are
tamperproof, tight and impervious. The containers with features like Cool Jugs, Jugs with built-
in taps and Jarswith threaded (reusable) caps etc. which are not tamperproof
and leak proof shall not be permitted.

Hygienic practices in the plant verified as per Annex B of standardand followed perfectly. One
sample of packaged product water is drawn and send speriodically for complete testing for all
requirements of the relevant Indian Standard. And also doing batch wise in-house testing of all
parameters mention in and IS14543BISBIS standard also FSSAI standard.

Royal Water Process flow:

Following treatment steps are involved in the process flow :

1) DOSING SYSTEM 1 & 2 :

The water is drawn from Bore Well line. The water is then collected to storage tank. It then
goes to dosing system through raw water feed pump. In the dosing system, antiscalent is used
for the softening of the water.

2) PRESSURE SAND FILTER:

From dosing system water goes to pressure sand filter, where the impurities of raw water are
removed.

3) ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER:

From pressure sand filter water goes to activated carbon filter where organic impurities are
removed.

4) MICRON CARTRIDGE FILTER (MCF):

Water is then passed through micronfilter. This filter removes the micron particles from the
water.

5) DEMINERALISATION BY REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM (R.O.)

Water from MCF goes to R.O. System through High Pressure Pump.
R.O. removes 90-95% of dissolved solids. The finished water is
passed into Storage Tank.

6) OZONE GENERATOR WITH RE-CIRCUALTION:

Finished water from R.O. system is stored in 5.5 made storagetank. The tank is provided with
the Man Hole so that the tank can be cleaned. This
tank is used as ozone circulation tank. The ozone is passed to this tank for disinfections.

7) U.V. SYSTEM:
Water from 5.5. tank is passed through MCF to U.V. disin- fection system, where the bacteria
are inactivated.

8) FILLING AND PACKING:
Water is then filled in cleaned and rinsed con- tainers.

9) VISUAL EXAMINATION:
Containers are visually inspected for any leak- age and suspended matter against illuminated
screen.

10) TESTING:
The raw water is tested two times in a month. Finished water is tested as per scheme of testing
prescribed by 815

Royal Water Manufacturing Process:

Sanitization and Sterilization is done daily before resuming production


SANITATION

1.Take sufficient quantity of soft water in CIP tank.


2. Add required quantity sod. Hypo. Chloride solution in CIP tank containing soft water.
3. Now start CIP pump.
4. Let the chlorine solution go into both tank through CIP line.
5. Solution will go from top through CIP volume which distributes
solution in entire tank.
6. Check the available chlorine.
7. Chlorine (free) should be 10-15 PPM.
8. If %age of chlorine is less then add more hypo chloride solution till required strength of
chlorine is achieved in water.
9. Start feed pump and pass solution through sand filter, all micron filters, Ozone contact
column etc. and then filling machine.
10. Hold this solution at least for 30minutes and can be extended
to over night.
11. Drain out the solution from the whole system.
12. Take fresh water and remove the chlorine of storage tank.

13. After removing chlorine traces from storage tank, fill with
fresh bore well water.
14. Remove the chlorine traces from each pointup to filling machine by flushing with fresh
water.
15. To check the residual chlorine use chlorotex reagent.

6. QUALITY CONTROL
: It is strictly followed that, as far as possible,

Statistical Quality Control (SQC) methods used for controlling the quality of the product
during production as envisaged in this Scheme rules. In addition, efforts made to gradually
having quality management system in accordance with the quality system modules as per
IS/ISO 9001 also.

Quality assurance:
We are having two Quality Assurance Personnel, one for carrying out chemical Testing and
the other for microbiological testing. The personnel for chemical testing area science
graduate with chemistry. Microbiologist is a science graduate with Microbiology as a subject.
Both are having necessary competence to carry out testing of the respective tests (Chemical
or Microbiological).

LABORATORY:

A Laboratory being maintained, which is suitably equipped and staffed, where different tests
given in the specification shall be carried out in accordance with the method given in the
specification. All the testing apparatus being periodically checked and calibrated and records
of such checks/calibration maintained.

TEST RECORDS:

All records of tests and inspection being kept in suitable forms approved by the Bureau of
Indian Standards.

7. Marketing Strategies

Price for Royal Water bottle at Rs 10 for 500ml and Water 20 for 1 liter.One of the efficient
marketing strategies that the Royal Water is capturing local market within its locality.

Royal Water also transport its product to various places through dealer

Such places are Bhimavaram, Nellore, Vellupurm, Tirupati, Kanchipuram, Chennai, using their
own Transportation to reduce the cost of transportation of the packed drinking water.

To promote the product the Royal Water use social media such as Instagram, Facebook, etc.

Royal Water also sponsor their packed drinking water while time of meeting in the office and
also in school and college in various ways such as promoting it

At the time of guest lecture and in school and also they sell there product in school’s and
colleges canteen to capture the student market.

INTERNSHIP FOR 15 DAYS

Day – 01

For the first day in royal water we learn about their business and their motive and their mission,
goal and its products production and when it’s started.

My work for the day-01 in royal water factory is to learn how the company is organizing, how
the product is producing and their production rate and how much it’s cost to produce a single
unit, and its daily wastage

Royal water produce around 1500 cases which contain 12 units of 1-liters packed drinking
water and around 2000 cases which contain 24 units of 500ml packed drinking water.

The average wastage for producing the product is around 1-2% per day.

Day – 02

For the day two with help of the manager Mr. Sandeep in Royal Water explaind everything
about theCompany and its product’s production process and it’s misson and visions, and
origin
of this business when it’s started.
My work for this day is to learn how the is organizing, how the product is producing and their
daily Productis producing and their daily production rate and how much its cost to produce a
single unit, And where they have the good demand for their sales growth to increase.
Royal water majority of the demand and its heights sales growth present is in Bhimavaram
which is Located in Andhra Pradesh.

Day – 03

I worked as a sales executive for the Royal water for my internship training.

In Royal water there is no telugu speaking person. So my work is to deal with order and supplies
the demand for the Andhra Pradesh region.

For the day I learned about the places and the dealer from the Andhra Pradesh region.

After this task I came to know about the where and how much demand is their in the marketing.

Day – 04

After learning where the demand and about the dealer.

My work is to communicate with the dealers in the Andhra Pradesh region in there are at least
one dealer for every 100km to 150 km.In which there are at least one dealer for the district and
total of 25 dealer in the Andhra Pradesh in which under them they are at least of 11 sub dealer.

My work is to communicate with the dealer about the how much stock they need.

Day -05

Highest demand for the Royal water is from Bhimavaram. I have worked as a middle man in
between dealer and the sub dealer. Here in this task my idea to supply to the sub dealer with
less transportation expenses. For this I have contacted the main dealer to take the stock more
than what he placed the exceeding’s stock will be sold to the sub dealer by some profit or by
some commission for the dealer.

In this task the company can sell to mid or sub dealer without increasing the transportation
expenses.

Day – 06

For the sixth day my work is same to call the dealer to supply the demand or Royal water
packed drinking water.

My work or task I came to learn about business communication skills and how to talk with
dealer. From this I learn different marketing strategy such as low pricing method.

This training helped me to increase my skills in the art of negotiation at the time of selling the
product in the market and with dealer.

Day -07

For the seventh day I learned the psychology of telugu dealer mindset and their way of thinking
and their motives.

With this training my skills and my communication skills. I even called the local school and
college canteens and the moderate high hotels and restaurants to take sell and promote the
Royal water for increasing the promotion. And to increase the brand image.

Day – 08

For day eight my work is to work under the marketing manager


He gave me bunch of work such as
1. Calling the local wholesaler and dealer to promote and to sell the product

2. Calling local TV channels for Advertisement proposal.

3. Promotion activity in social media.


Form this I learn about the online market and social media marketing .

learned different ways of promotion on online and ads campaign in Facebook and in Instagram.

In which I have learned about the Email marketing and Display advertising and pop up ads.
I ran online advertising campaign for a week in the Andhra Pradesh region.

Day -09

I had a meeting with Managing Director for the Royal Water Mr. S. Chandar Sekhar to
inform about the order from the dealer from the Andhra Pradesh region and to pass the
information about the pricing and commission rates from dealer to sub dealer. And the idea
about the decreasing the transportation expenses and increase the sales.

The pricing is for one case Rs.120 for one litres which contains 12 units, for 500ml of one
case is Rs.160 which contains 24 units.

Day – 10

For the tenth day I had a meeting with the Managing Directore for the Royal water
Mr.S.Chandar Sekha Me and my classmate Dheeraj both are planned to conduct a stall in
PBV apartments to promote in that region for that.
1. We both got the permission from MD from the Royal water for running the stall in the
PBV apartments.
2. Dheeraj and me, we both planned for this promotional activity, such includes first we
prepared budget for the conducting the stall.
3. Second we designed a banner for the stall under guidance of marketing manager
Mrs.Neharika.
4. Third we placed the order for the banner in the villivakam.

Day -11

For the eleventh day we both me and Dheeraj went to the PBV apartments which is located in
iyyappanthangal by using Royal water transportation.

To conduct the stall in PBV apartments first we both went to the apartment in charge for the
permission to conduct the stall.

Second, we searched for the prefect place to get maximum targeted customer, for that we
selected a space near to park.

Reason for selection for that space

1. All the elder person used to come to the park for walking.

2. Children’s plays.

3. All household women comes to park with their children and to talk with neighbours.

4. PBV gym is near to the park.

In this area we saw a big opportunity for maximise our sells and to promote the product.

Day-12

For the twelfth day

Stall Set-Up:

The stall was set up early in the morning, with a simple but eye-catching display. The products

were arranged neatly on tables and the stall was decorated with colorful banners and signs. The

stall had ample space for customers to buy the products and a seating area was also set up for

customers in the park who wanted to take a break.

Day – 13 -14

For the thirteenth and fourteenth day.

Sales and Results:

The stall was open for 8 hours, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. During this time, the stall was visited

by a significant number of people. The marketing strategy and the quality of the product helped

to attract customers, and we managed to sell 372 bottles of water for the first day and 436

bottles of water bottles for the second day.

The sales were satisfactory, and the overall feedback from the customers was positive. Many

customers commented on the refreshing taste of the water and its affordability compared to

other bottled water brands in the market.

Day -15

For the fifteenth day.

Conclusion:

The two-day stall for selling packed water bottles was successful. The setup, marketing

strategy, and quality of the product were key factors that contributed to its success. The sales

figures were satisfactory, and the overall feedback from customers was positive.

After finishing the stall we shared information to MD of the Royal water about the result and

the sales and profit. All information and accounts we gave to the Mr. S. Chandar Babu-MD

Royal water.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, my visit to Royal water was a fruitful experience. The company's commitment
to sustainability and environmental protection was impressive, and their efforts towards
quality control were commendable. Royal water manufacturing process was efficient and
highly automated, which allowed them to produce high-quality packed drinking water. The
company's dedication to customer satisfaction and its ability to adapt to changing market
conditions make it a leader in the water bottle industry.

My time in Royal water is very productive, I got the opportunity learn many things with real
life experience I got to do the real time company’s accounts and to work in the factory to
experience the work using the machines. The staff in Royal water treated friendly and gave
their time to teach the work from start to end with friendly manner. They explained
everything in the work and at the work while we are working. They clarified everything
doubt about the work.

Overall, I would recommend Royal water anyone to buy the water bottle
