    Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information 2-2-2 Condition Solenoid $2 works with solenoid $1 to actuate transmission gear- shifting. Solenoid S2 operates when it receives voltage from the control module. If the transmission control module (TCM) registers a break on the solenoid S2 circuit when the solenoid ‘should not be activated, diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 2-2-2 is ‘set. Solenoid S2 cannot then be activated. Substitute value The transmission control module (TCM) “Limp-home" program: has been initiated and the transmission operates only in 4th gear. Possible source - Open-circuit in signal cable. - Defective solenoid. - Contact resistance in terminals. Fault symptom{s] + Poor performance due to the transmission operating only in 4th gear. - Rough gear shifting due to maximum system pressure in the transmission (Emergency mode) ~ No Lock-up function (Emergency mode).
