I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to;
a. Identify the elements of design
b. Create a simple design of garments using elements of design
c. Appreciate the importance of applying the elements of design to garments
Generalization
3. Space
Space is the area that surrounds a shape;
it creates a form within the space. Think
of it as music: space is the silence
between the notes of a song. If all the
notes were played together, that would
turn into noise.
4. COLOUR
Yet another basic element of design
enhanced by hue, value, tints and shades.
Colours decide the mood depending on
the combination. Warm colours consists
of shades obtained from red, yellow and
orange. Cool colours include those
obtained from blue, green and purple.
Tints and shades of black and white from
the neutral colour range.
5. Texture
Textures in design are both visual and
tactile. Textures are widely imparted in
fashion in the form of prints, weaves,
and other surface embellishments.
