    Review the Past Lesson
    Before we start our new lesson, what is Ma’am the last lesson is all about the

    Exactly!
    What are the principles of design? Balance, rhythm, emphasis, proportion
    and harmony.
    Very Good!
    What are the two types of balance?
    Very Good! Symmetrically or the formal balance and
    Asymmetrically or the informal balance.
    What are the three types of Rhythm?

    Repetition, radiation and gradation


    Very Good. So, let’s move on to our
    next lesson.

    Today we will discuss about the
    elements of design.
    What Are the Elements of Design?

    Design elements are essential for


    creating a visual message, and can be
    used alone or in combination to achieve
    desired results.
    1. Line
    Lines are the most basic elements of
    design and can be visible or invisible,
    and can convey different moods. Grids
    are made of multiple lines and lend
    structure to a page, and lines can be used
    to create demarcation on a specific
    section.
    Application 2. Form or Shape
    Create a simple design of a garments Form is the positive
    using elements of design. element over space,
    while shape is the negative element.

    Generalization

    3. Space
    Space is the area that surrounds a shape;
    it creates a form within the space. Think
    of it as music: space is the silence
    between the notes of a song. If all the
    notes were played together, that would
    turn into noise.

    4. COLOUR
    Yet another basic element of design
    enhanced by hue, value, tints and shades.
    Colours decide the mood depending on
    the combination. Warm colours consists
    of shades obtained from red, yellow and
    orange. Cool colours include those
    obtained from blue, green and purple.
    Tints and shades of black and white from
    the neutral colour range.

    5. Texture
    Textures in design are both visual and
    tactile. Textures are widely imparted in
    fashion in the form of prints, weaves,
    and other surface embellishments.
