b. Create a simple design of garments using elements of design
c. Appreciate the importance of applying the elements of design to garments

Today we will discuss about the
elements of design.
What Are the Elements of Design?

Design elements are essential for


creating a visual message, and can be
used alone or in combination to achieve
desired results.
1. Line
Lines are the most basic elements of
design and can be visible or invisible,
and can convey different moods. Grids
are made of multiple lines and lend
structure to a page, and lines can be used
to create demarcation on a specific
section.
Application 2. Form or Shape

Space is the area that surrounds a shape;

the combination. Warm colours consists

orange. Cool colours include those
obtained from blue, green and purple.
Tints and shades of black and white from
the neutral colour range.

5. Texture
Textures in design are both visual and
tactile. Textures are widely imparted in
fashion in the form of prints, weaves,
and other surface embellishments.
