Our Product Name: Electronics Lock Box with Apps Installed in.
Description: Lock your electronic devices in, take the distractions away. (Because I did
not find a perfectly matching patent online, I searched five ones that were extremely
closely related to our project’s functionalities.)
1. Patent Name: entire lock box with 3d front panel

Date of Patent: Jan. 26, 2016
Country of Origin: United States
Claim: The ornamental design for an entire lock box with 3D front panel.
Personal Thoughts: This patent is very similar to our project in terms of shape and
basic functions. But the difference between this patent is that it focuses more on
improving the security of its locked objects. This is simply just a safe lock box. What we
are trying to accomplish, to build, not only just a safe lock box. This product is not
intelligent either, purely manually setting up. But in the future, if we desire to increase the
market needs, or expand the market to other areas, we could easily modify our product
by manufacturing them with carefully selected steels for safety protections. Then our
product could also be an intelligent safe lock box for some specific users.
2. Patent Name: LOCK BOX

Patent Number: US D772,522 S
Date of Patent: Nov. 22, 2016
Claim: The ornamental design for a lock box.
Personal Thoughts: A very similar patent compared with the above one. What makes
this different is the design of it seems to make it have more mobility compared to former.
So I suspect that this one may be built for certain purposes like security people’s
communications. The shape and design on this one looks much more similar to our
product, but still, no intelligent system, no controller design, and less portability. I cannot,
and I don’t have the right to say that our product is better than this, because they are
built for different purposes. But both of them have large possibilities for improvements
and modifications.
3. Patent Name: location tracking for locking device

Patent Number: US 2019 / 0197806 A1
Date of Patent: Jun. 27, 2019
Claim: A method includes establishing communication between a first mobile device and
a locking device ; determining , using a location determination circuit of the first mobile
device ,[...]the guest user profile comprising data usable to allow the guest user to lock
or unlock the locking device ; and transmitting , by the server , the guest user profile to
the second mobile device .
Personal Thoughts: This patent is a good patent for an intelligent locking system. GPS,
electric controller, communications between itself with cell phones. This looks a lot
similar to quite a few popular locks that we would buy nowadays for security purposes. I
chose this patent to look up because, reason one, there ain’t more devices that are
similar to our product. Secondly, this is a perfect locking system that I would choose to
install on our product if we can calibrate it perfectly. Also at the same time, GPS seems
to be a very good function to have on our product, for expanding the market.
4. Patent Name: electronic lock box proximity access control
Patent Number: US RE46 , 539 E
Date of Patent: Sep. 5, 2017
Claim: An electronic lock box system includes a wireless portable transponder that
communicates with an electronic lock box using a low power radio link . The portable
transponder includes : a wide area network radio to communicate to a central
clearinghouse computer , [...], the portable transponder sends the access event record to
the central clearinghouse computer .
Personal Thoughts: This patent is another example of a locking system with a very
carefully designed controller installed inside. Similar functionality compared with previous
one, but this contains a wireless sensor inside. So I assume this could go with wifi then
connecting it at some places you like other than your house. Locations change should
also be available. Like I said in the previous one, those are well designed bothly on
shape and functionalities, which should be brought into our product.
5. Patent Name: SHIELDED ELECTRONIC LOCK BOX

Patent Number: US 10 , 030 , 418 B2
Date of Patent: Jul. 24, 2018
Claim: Systems and methods are disclosed for maintaining security and data gathering
for a number of vehicles . The systems include a vehicle activity module for each of the
vehicles .[...], non - sales events , and intrusion events . The VAMs are capable of
autonomous operation , without the need to access the computer system to verify event
information . The VAMs further include signal attenuation mechanisms to facilitate use of
“ smart keys . "
Personal Thoughts: This patent introduced the smart key locking system just like our
cars’ key. I never saw it before and it is either not relevant to our product. But the reason
why I brought up here is because it inspires me that maybe we could put a fingerprint
safety system on our product if we improve our product furthermore as a lock box for
common daily items in the future. By doing this, we certainly could increase our market
needs. Because even if I’m one of the designers of our product, I’m not really confident
on the selling of it due to the relatively low market needs in the future if we only make a
box that can lock users’ cellphones.
