General Instructions:
(i) All the questions are compulsory.
(ii) The question paper consists of 34 questions divided into 4 sections A, B, C, and D.
(iii) Section A comprises of 20 questions of 1 mark each. Section B comprises of 6 questions
of 2 marks each. Section C comprises of 8 questions of 3 marks each. Section D comprises
of 6 questions of 4 marks each.

(iv) There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided three question of 2 marks
each, two questions of 3 marks
each, and two questions of 4 marks each. You have to attempt only one of
the alternatives in all such questions.
(v) Use of calculators is not permitted.

The median of the data is 24. Find the value of x.

27. Construct a right triangle when one side is 3.5cm and sum of the other side and hypotenuse is
5.5cm.

OR

Construct a triangle ABC in which BC = 4.7 cm, AB + AC = 8.2 cm and ∠C = 60°.

29. If the diagonals of a parallelogram are equal, then show that it is a rectangle.

ABCD is a parallelogram and AP and CQ are perpendiculars from vertices A and C on diagonal BD (see fig.).
Show that:
(i) ΔAPB = ΔCQD
(ii) AP = CQ

30. Plot the points A (1, 4), B (-2, 1) and C (4, 1). Name the figure so obtained on joining them in order and
also, find its area.

32. Three girls Reshma, Salma and Mandip are playing a game by standing on a circle of radius 5m drawn in
a park. Reshma throws a ball to Salma, Salma to Mandip, Mandip to Reshma. If the distance between Reshma
and Salma and between Salma and Mandip is 6m each, what is the distance between Reshma and Mandip?

33. A heap of wheat is in the form of a cone whose diameter is 10.5 m and height is 3 m. Find it volume.
If 1m3 wheat cost is ₹10, then find total cost.
OR

A circus tent consist of cylindrical base surmounted by a conical roof. The radius of the cylinder is 20 m.
The height of the tent is 63m and that of the cone is 21m. Find the volume of the tent and area of the
canvas used for making it.

35. Draw a histogram of the weekly pocket expenses of 125 students of a school given below:

Find the missing frequencies in the following frequency distribution. If it is known that the mean of the
distribution is 50.16 and the total number of items is 125 .

36. The diagonals of a quadrilateral ABCD are perpendicular to each other. Show that the quadrilateral
formed by joining the mid-points of its sides is a rectangle.

37. Construct a triangle, with perimeter 10 cm and base angles 60° and 45°.

38. In figure, PS is bisector of ∠QPR; PT ⊥ RQ and Q > R. Show that ∠TPS =  (∠Q – ∠R).

39. A travel company has 100 drivers for driving buses to various tourist destination. Given
below is a table showing the resting time of the drivers after covering a certain distance (in km).

What is the probability that the driver was chosen at random :


(a) takes a halt after covering 80 km?
(b) takes a halt after covering 115 km?
(c) takes a halt after covering 155 km?
(d) takes a halt after crossing 200 km?

40. A right angled A ABC with sides 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm is revolved about the fixed side of 4 cm. Find the
volume of the solid generated. Also, find the total surface area of the solid .

OR

A metallic right circular cylinder is 15 cm high and the diameter of its base is 14 cm. It is melted and recasted
into another cylinder with radius 4 cm. Find its height and curved surface area of the new cylinder.
