The Second World War lasted from 1939 to 1945. Germany, Italy, and Japan were

primarily involved in a significant international struggle with the allied powers—France, Britain,

the United States of America, and China. A military conference was conducted in Tehran from

November 28 to December 1, 1943. There was also talk of another front in Europe and a

potential Soviet engagement in the battle against Japan. They met again in Yalta, Crimea, from

February 4 to 11, 1945. After WWII, ideas for rebuilding Europe began. German unconditional

capitulation led to a crucial Potsdam summit. In August 1945, the Potsdam Conference ended.

Post-war future of Europe and its effects on the pollical map of Europe

The Tehran conferences

It was imperative that commando operations be carried out to support the Yugoslav

Partisans. Campaign Overlord would begin in May 1944 in collaboration with a southern France

operation. It was possible that landing-craft availability would limit the strength of the latter

operation. According to Stalin, Soviet forces would start an offensive simultaneously with the

Germans to prevent them from shifting troops between the Eastern and Western front lines. With

the imminent operations in Europe, the military staff of the three powers agreed to maintain

constant contact. It was settled that a cover plan to deceive the rival about these actions would be

devised by the staff involved. Turkey would join the Allies in World War II prior to the year's

conclusion. The Conference further observed that this could be discussed in the impending

discussions to get Turkey into the conflict.

At Yalta conference

Demilitarization and denazification of Germany would be implemented. Agreement on

the importance of Nazi Germany's unconditional capitulation. Germany alongside Berlin would

be separated into four occupied zones. A Russia-based compensation board was established.

Forced labor was supposed to be used to pay for the destruction done by Germany. Poland's

eastern boundary would be defined by the Curzon Line, while Germany would compensate

Poland for its losses in the west.

Stalin promised that Poland would be able to hold free elections. Stalin agreed to join the

UN after Roosevelt persuaded him to do so. Stalin demanded that all the Soviet Socialist

Republics be awarded a relationship with the United Nations (Robinson, P. 2020, 170). There

were no exceptions to this rule, regardless of the wishes of Soviet and Yugoslav citizens.

Although everything was considered, the 14 republics were not granted.

Potsdam conference

After the Potsdam Conference, the Allies outlined their goals for Germany's occupation:

demilitarization, denazification, democracy, decentralization, and decartelization. At the

Potsdam Conference, the Allies agreed to divide Vietnam north of Da Nang at the 16th parallel

for operational reasons. Saigon's Japanese forces would be taken into British hands, while those

in the north of Indochina would be handed over to Chinese hands (Robinson, P. 2020, 172). Four

occupation zones for Germany and Austria were established in Yalta, with the capitals of the two

countries, Berlin and Vienna, being split into two separate areas. Agreement on Nazi war

criminal trials. There should be an end to German occupation in the areas of the Alsace-Lorraine,

Sudetenland, Austria, and the westernmost parts of Poland. Destroy Germany's war potential by

dismantling all military-capable industries.

Polish, Czechoslovak, and Hungarian Germans were expelled from their countries, but

not Yugoslavia. A deal had been struck between the Germans and the Soviet Union about paying

war reparations. Keep Germany on par with the rest of Europe's living standards. There would be

no guarantee of safety for Polish soldiers who returned to communist-ruled Poland. Poland's

temporary western border would be the Oder–Neisse line, which the Oder and Neisse rivers

would define. Out of its share of the total reparation payments, the Soviet Union promised to

cover Poland's compensation claims.

Mechanisms to prevent future wars.

Formation of the United Nations and a security council. In August and September 1944,

representatives from the United States, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, and China

convened at Dumbarton Oaks in Washington to create the charter of a postwar international

organization founded on the premise of collective security. Destroy Germany's war potential by

dismantling all military-capable industries. All three countries would recognize Poland's

Provisional Government of National Unity.

Remnants

Some decisions made during the three conferences have been inti effect to date. Since

1937, Germany has had a 25 percent reduction in its size because of shifting its eastern border

westward to the Oder–Neisse line (Robinson, P. 2020, 180). After East Prussia and Silesia were

divided, the rest of West Prussia and the eastern two-thirds of Pomerania fell under the new

boundaries. Except for Upper Silesia, Germany's second-largest heavy manufacturing center,

these regions were primarily agricultural. Poland still holds elections, as was agreed in the Yalta

conference.

I believe that it is okay for a small group of leaders to be entrusted with policing and

ensuring global peace. Probably were it not for the intervention of the allied nations, the damages

of the war would have been immense. As long as the leaders do not push for selfish agendas and

those that will oppress other nations, it is the right way. It is impossible to include everyone in

decision-making. And since it worked out in World War two, who should we not give it the

benefit of the doubt.

Conclusion

The three conferences helped the allied nations unite against Nazi Germany and the

Japanese empire. While the three countries could work together at the conferences, they could

not agree on how the world would look afterward. The powers that be would never have been

able to reach any substantial accords regarding post-war Europe. Because of this, the Soviet

Union had limited tolerance for American and British meddling in Eastern Europe. Nobody

either in the United States or Britain was prepared for war with the Soviet Union.
