1. My Parents believe in me because I am their daughter and they believe that if I work
hard enough I will be able to achieve my goals.
2. Kevin was playing basketball with only one arm. He was working hard and showing
people that you can do anything.
3. As of today I won’t say I do or don’t believe in myself, I’m in the middle I believe I can
but then there’s times where I don’t.

1. When everything was against him that’s when he’s at his best and not wanting
to disappoint his mother.
2. One weakness Mark’ henry’s he could have had were drugs.

3. Yes because he has shown that you can achieve what you want even if you
started wrong and keep on working hard.

1. The impacts that were made were the organization “Dude, be nice” that made
people become appreciative of other people and not expecting anything in return.

2. I can impact someone by being nice, showing them affection and that I care for

REFLECTION ANSWERS

1. The most interesting thing in this episode for me was when she was having a
hard time because her coach and other people had thought she would be able
to get through it if she started training hard. Until she had a breakdown, that's
when they realized that she needed help.

2. Allison Schmitt demonstrated courage by when she wanted to quit swimming


because she couldn't do push-ups, she kept training until she was able to do
more, when she didn't make it to the finals in the 2008 Olympics but she used it
as motivation to continue training, when she changed her mind set and won the
gold medal in the London Olympics, when she realized she had a mental illness
and she asked for help and when she decided that what she went through could
help a lot of people that is struggling with mental illness.

3. Affirmation is a type of way to encourage or be an emotional support. My


personal affirmation would be “I can do it”, ”I know my worth”, ”I choose to be
happy and to love myself ”, ”Today you are going to have a great day”, ”I make
mistakes, take them as lessons”, and ”I accept myself for who I am

1. Gratitude is showing appreciation and feeling thankful for something then later
on returning kindness.
2. Some ways the students at Tivy High expressed their gratitude was by writing
letters.

3. Someone I want to show gratitude to is my aunt and uncle because they have
been taking care of me since my parents can’t. They have given me the chance
to come back to LA and continue my education.

2. What hardships did Noelle face in life and how did those hardships impact her
life?

3. Have compassion for yourself before you have compassions for others. How do
you ensure you put yourself first?

REFLECTION ANSWERS

1. When I am facing hardships I usually feel down and get unmotivated. My


reaction has a negative impact in my life since I get less motivation and tend to
give up but after a while I try again.

2. When Noelle was a young girl, her family lost everything in a hurricane and
they went bankrupt eventually.

3. I make sure I put myself first by taking breaks and treating myself with love. I
have to have my priorities like health, family, school and friends. And keeping a
nice balance between the time I help others and myself.

- A married couple run a non-profit company called Special needs and treats. Their
mission is to ensure that any kid in their county that has a birthday has a cake when
their parents can’t afford a cake.
- This company also helps adults with special needs have an opportunity, a place to feel
safe, and learn a skill that can help them with speech development, social interaction,
and helps with job opportunities.
- As a student we can get more involved by attending Special Olympic events, having
fundraisers, and educating ourselves. We shouldn’t be afraid to interact with special
needs people.

- One way this film relates to my life is when I joined a club and got to meet them and
talked with them.
