2020 Supplemental Self-Guided SEES Modules 1-4

Module 1

Hey, how are you? It’s been five months since the lockdown began and it is very new to us since we are
not used to it. The routine I have doing this pandemic are the following ;

 I help with the household chores

 Sometimes I had fun surfing the internet
 I watched television for news report and also watch some movies and series
 I read some fictional stories
 I help in doing the laundry

Those we’re my routine, but then I had this feeling like I felt empty sometimes, I felt bored and also
there are times that I am not in the mood for everything. Often, I experienced anxiety also I felt drained
eventhough I didn’t stressed myself out. I sometimes asked myself on what am I feeling this way and
why is this happening to me but this quote says it all “its okay to not be okay”.

APPLICATION

1. The “Module 1 handout : When the terrible things happen” helps me a lot in knowing about
what I truly felt and also my reaction on how this feeling reacts on myself. I am now relieved
knowing that my feelings and reactions are all valid, and there is nothing to worry about.
2. I can apply this to myself anytime, either I am happy nor sad. I can evaluate which is a positive
and negative responses when I feel sometime weird. And to know that, those feeling I felt we’re
all normal and im all good.
3. “My feelings are valid. My reactions are normal. My feelings and reactions are valid and
normal.” I can say that im okay now after reading the handout, knowing that those feeling I felt
we’re all valid and normal.

Module 2

1. I am feeling happy after reading the 3C’s. It is easier way to identify one’s feeling and thought for
some reasons. The lessons that the 3C’s has given to all the readers is that it is normal that you’re
feeling sad nor feeling happy and so on, there are many reasons behind it and it is okay to feel it that
way. They are giving us more knowledge of what we feel is right or wrong and they also gave us the
chance on reframing our thoughts.
2. Most of the time we are thinking, some of it we’re good and the others we’re bad and here we
became to assume that those bad thoughts we are thinking we’re might came true. So for us not to
worry on how we feel, we can reframe our thoughts so we can be happy and to remove ourself to
stress.
BEFORE (My feelings during the AFTER (my feelings right now)
pandemic/disaster)

Anxious Happy
Drained Productive

Empty Blessed

APPLICATION
1. I learned that the feelings that I caught could be my based in knowing and
understanding what I really feel and how can I live through it.
2. I checked the feelings and realized that I could feel happiness and gratefulness in other
way as possible.
3. And so I changed my feelings into the following ;
 I am happy
 I am productive
 I am grateful
 I am blessed

ANALYSIS
1. Nowadays, it is really important to take a look or to know on who are we going to
approach to or to ask someones help in this kind of pandemic/disaster. It is really
importante to know whom we can contact, for us to be able to approach them directly.
2. So we can ask them directly for help and assistance.

ABSTRACTION
There are so many new reports that showed like that they can’t cope
up with the problem they are facing. You can say that they failed but
they aren’t failure. Sometimes people have mistakes too, we aren’t
perfect. Maybe the plan they have make wasn’t applied properly and
they didn’t organized things well, that’s why they didn’t fulfill their
responsibility properly. Like me, all of us that experienced the typhoon
Haiyan, it was a very hazardous and life threatening I have been
encountered in my whole life. But still, many people helped us to
survived, they gave us what we need that time. And luckily we are very
thankful that we we’re able to rise up and continue what we have
started.

Module 4
KITE
God – he strengthens me up everday, to continue pursuing in life and giving me trust and hopes
that everything will be okay.
Family – they help me with everything specially in coping up with my problems in life, and they
are also supporting and cheering me up to keep reaching my dreams in life.
Friends – they always cheer me up whenever I feel down or empty
Myself – is one of the reasons why my kite is in the air, without me trusting myself I wouldn’t be
this strong as I am today. Having a trust on yourself is really have a big impact, it will lead you to
good thoughts and ideas in life.
ANALYSIS
I realize that I am not alone in this journey. That everyone is cheering me up and helping me
reaching my dreams up in the air like a kite.
ABSTRACTION
Just like a kite, I am more determined, patience and responsible in the life because I know that I
have those strengths in keeping me up in the sky.

What’s In
What’s New
”A person may escape society for a while, but he can never escape culture”
1. The quotation itself says it all, it is 99.9% percent true for me. We may
escape society but we can never escape culture that bring the best out of
ourself. It really help us a lot in knowing more about our existence and
knowledge about the society and our ways of living.
2. I do agree with the author. Some people may not but it is the importance of
culture that we are talking about. Culture has the big impact to all of us,
without culture itself we didn’t even know what our society looks like.

1. If I am to choose between quantitative or qualitative, I would prefer
quantitative. The reason I choose quantitative because it is more
focused, scientific, fast when it comes to finding data it is less time
consuming and very structured when collecting numerical data, has a
larger sample size and the result in finding data in quantitative can be
used in make generalizations about the population.
2. If I am to choose between quantitative or qualitative, I would prefer
qualitative. The reason I choose quantitative because it takes place in
natural setting, the methods are interactive and humanistic, it offers
several avenues to understand certain phenomena and the topic, and
results of this research is analyzed thematically.
Apply What you have Learned

Quantitative research is more focused, and less time consuming, by picking
quantitative he will not exhaust himself because it is easier to conduct a
data. It also offers him different understanding to a different problems and
concepts.
2. I will encourage him to do quantitative research. In quantitative it is more
easier to conduct a study, the way quantitative collects data to the
respondents is fats and easy. Surely the researchers, will not get tired of
gathering the data.

Impact of Technology on Politics

Intro : As the worlds fast changing economy, the continued growth of technology
has had a significant impact on the political ratings that candidates achieve. The
article of Impact of Technology on Politics attempts to analyze how these two
spheres of modern life, technology and politics, interrelate and what the
outcomes are of this interrelationship.
Body : Political candidates use technology in many ways.( Any kinds of
communication under technology has a big impact.) Different communication
channels provided by the internet have the power to influence the growth of
different individuals in their respective spheres. Through technology, politicians
are able to access funds, gain political pundits, and spend less on campaigning
and pushing their candidacy. One of the ways in which technology influen ces
politics is the financial side. By broadcasting through technological marketing,
candidates get suitable donors to support different campaigns. The likes of
facebook, twitter, youtube are the powerful communication media platforms that
can easily raise the ratings of political candidates. The internet enables politicians
to use podcasting. The act of podcasting can make anyone a journalist. Through
podcasting, politicians are able to potrays a journalistic stature, thereby ensuring
that the information is considered credible. All in all, gaining political publicity
through podcasts is a common but expensive method to use, housely admits.
Politcians use technology to raise their bids among the youth, while traditional
methods are used for the older generation. Using the most recent technology will
surely attract the youth. The older generation uses the internet much less.
Another way to look at the matter is in the relation to thinking about the internet
as a tool for free advertising. Politicians can cater hundreds of audience by the
help of political campaigns through the use of technology. Individuals perform the
needed publicity as each person shares the video, and so on. The extra generated
videos are not paid for, while on social networks even the original posting is free.
Conclusion : It is clear that gaining political publicity through the use of
technology has become easier, especially since the technological devices are so
accessible and widespread. However, with the use of internet, any political figure
can become recognizable within just a few minutes. Not just good, but also a bad
reputation can be formed in a blink of an eye using modern technology. You can
risk making positive advertisement into a negative advertisement with just one
click.

THE FUTURE GENDER EQUALITY

Recruiters aimed to prioritize diversity as business objective. Recruiters are
responsible and the solution for hiring. Monitoring diversity means recruiters can
address discrepancies. They are in charge of hiring people equally and qualified.

Gender equality is important in the workplace, it improves economic growth and

to enhanced the companies with their employees. When this will be approved
and support this policies, we can develop many things about how recruiters
equally hired people. By this, we can reduce the unemployment rate of the
country and everyone can worked equally. Businesses needs support system in
place and investment in on-going development on the value of diversity to the
business. Later in the year, Cititec and sateo launched the Cititec Gender
Development Programmed. Aimed at internal staff , candidates and clients, the
programme will bring men and women together to develop key leadership skills
based on the strengths finder model. With this newly launched program, business
will be growing fast and also help the economic development grow. Companies
and people surrounded by business must encourage hiring managers to
understand the implication of these trends and should work in partnership with
recruiters. Truly, recruiters has the big impact to this realization.

With this new implementation, this could make a progress to our economy. It is
more pleasurable to have equal opportunities. The issue around gender equality
be explored alongside a problem solving approach. True gender equality can
therefore start to be realized, and recruiters are the key to solution.

I have learned that academic writing is a form of writing which is a nonfiction

writing and it is written by expert and professionals. This means that, this kind of
writing deals with critical, objective and specialized text as it is quite formal. This
academic work is produced by students in the university, scholarly works that
analyze rigorously by people who made it. To be one of the good academic
writers out there, you should need to learn the following structures, styles and
different techniques.
