    Narration: Alex gets money, did not understand worth of selling off heritage,
    goes on vacay to italy..wants to “”explore””
    Salvatore selling cuttlefish in busy market(Shagun sitting at a desk, with
    machli)
    Alex enters
    Alex: Man, ig It was a good decision to sell that statue off. Because of that i
    could get out of that hellhole. Ah!!Italy’s so beautiful
    Salvatore: Cuttlefish!! Cuttlefish!! Fresh cuttlefish!!! 10 for 2!!
    Alex: Ah! A gourmet dinner tonight! I should ask the cook to get some of
    these.(goes casually to check how the fish is) How long will you be here?
    Salvatore: Well, I usually leave by dusk, but if you want, I’ll wait longer.
    Alex(thanks Salvatore, abt to leave, suddenly remembers smthng):
    hmm..good to know..also, I wanted to know more about this town of yours.
    What are the major attractions..any rich people..?
    Salvatore: sure-

    Assunta(just enters,asks seriously): Salvatore!!Was it busy today? Have


    you eaten?
    Salvatore(twinkling eyes,happy to see her): No no..it was just like any other
    day
    Assunta: Oh! Thats not a surprise-
    Alex(offended, tap on the table):uhh.. you were saying?

    Assunta(now notices Alex): Oh? What was it you asked?


    Alex: Pardon me, but who are you again?
    Assunta: I’m his wife..May I help you?
    Alex: (repeats question)
    Assunta: (oh-ho!!) You want to mingle with the rich and lazy?(notices
    Gabriela strutting behind) There are several such..but one, “very
    prominent” is right behind you.
    Alex turns
    Alex: WOWWWW she’s..gorgeous. Seems like the daughter of Caesars.
    Assunta(rolls eyes): Beware..Appearances can be deceptive. She’s such a
    donna patetica (daun-na paa-te-tica pathetic woman)
    Salvatore(defends): Assunta, (puts hand on her shoulder, smiles) It was a
    long time ago, let it go now.
    Assunta (scoffs) Lets go home (both exit)

    Alex meanwhile is mesmerized, pays no attention to convo of salv, assunta


    Walks towards Gabriela
    Alex: Heya! You look beautiful this afternoon.
    Gabriela: Well, I look beautiful at every time of the day, perhaps you’d care
    to find out.
    Alex: I’ll be happy to. I’m Alex
    Gabriela: Gabriela, pleasure to meet you.
    Alex: I’m visiting for a few days. Could you show me around? (Gabriela
    takes his arm)
    They start walking, alex subtly puts his arm around her shoulder..gabriela -
    smirk
    Gabriela: Let me take you to Grande Marina, the main port on the Island.
    Its so beautiful. Blah blah (slips Alex ka wallet into her pocket)
    Exit

    Next morning
    Alex (slams door open): hell is empty and all the devils here!! My wallet!!
    My precious money!! All gone! Stolen! (huffs) It must have been one of the
    peasants from that crowded marketplace!!

    Salvatore is setting up his machli stall, Assunta helping


    Alex : It was you, wasnt it? You lazy devils, wanting to make easy money?!
    (pulls at his hair, despair) (Gabriela enters,sees Alex screaming, hides face
    and runs)
    Salvatore confused af, stunned, Assunta steps forward
    Assunta: fermare!(Fair-maar-ae stop) What are you babbling on about?
    Alex(goes to the other end of the room): My hard-earned money is gone!!
    Paces around, thinking abt his future..

    Assunta: I’ll bet my hat, it was that woman.


    Salvatore: Gabriela? He’ll never believe you.
    Assunta: This is not even our concern. (chuckling sarcastically)NOW
    Where’s her hard working man..When she rejected youfor such a trivial
    reason, I knew she was immature. But I didn't anticipate that she could
    stoop to this level.
    Salvatore(understanding):
