Artificial Intelligence
Ans 1: Definitely, educational games are an attractive teaching method for students as nowadays, in
many societies, people feel the need to prepare younger generations to adapt to different and fast
changing environments. In the past, knowledge of hard skills such as obtaining degrees or certificates
was a guarantee for a job. Today, hard skills are still important, but they are not sufficient enough.  For
this reason, soft skills such as being able to communicate, engage in teamwork, and respect time
management are also necessary. A school that completely overlooks soft skills is a school that is not
educating its students to be happy and successful in their lives.

This is not the place to dig deeper into concepts like soft skills and emotional intelligence but it can be
said that in having interpersonal skills in empathy, listening, decision making, critical thinking and other
aspects are more and more required in contemporary society and should be at the center of the
curriculum in our schools.

If you’re wondering how these soft skills can be learned and practiced, GBL (Game-Based Learning) is
one of the answers. Gamelearn, a well known organization that connects games and learning at any
level, recognizes that “Game-based learning has become the best solution for soft skills learning.”

According to Educause's article, gaming can create a dynamic that can inspire learners to develop skills
and competencies as they focus on the activities of the game.
They can:

 function as individual learning activities

 a powerful content delivery mechanism over several sessions
 last for the duration of the course.

In order to deliver content as a game, faculty members tend to divide the syllabus into levels through
which the students must progress, with students getting feedback rather than grades.
In order for it to be effective, the game:

 must align with learning outcomes

 should not be competitive in the conventional sense

Sometimes, in fact, the game might require students to work collaboratively in order to solve problems,
while in other contexts, game mechanics might make students compete against one another in order to
reach a personal best.

Ans 2: Yes, educational games surely bring benefits to the teaching process. Education games are very
integral part of learning process of the children, thus, it is necessary to introduce games in the
curriculum of the children. Also, one must note that there are many subjects that can utilize the
teaching through games method for effective understanding of the students. Hence, this is why it is
must to promote the use of games in teaching the students for effective understanding and prolonged
learning exercise. The following are the main benefits of game-based learning and education:
1. Increases A Child’s Memory Capacity: Games often revolve around the utilization of memorization.
This not only relates to games whereby children have to remember aspects in order to solve the game,
memorize critical sequences, or track narrative elements.

2. Computer & Simulation Fluency: This is something which is very important because we live in a world
which is dominated by technology. Playing on games via the internet allows children the license to get
used to how a computer works and thus it becomes second nature to them. There are websites, such
as Cartoon Network games, which provide young children with fun and exciting games which also teach
them to utilize the mouse and keyboard properly, not to mention browsing, username and passwords,
and general internet navigation.

3. Helps with Fast Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving: Most games require children to think quickly.
Moreover, they have to utilize their logic in order to think three steps ahead in order to solve problems
and complete levels. This is great because it is something which helps children in later life as they
develop their logic, their accuracy and their ability to think on their feet and outside of the box.

4. Develops Hand-Eye Coordination: Games that require children to use a gamepad or a keyboard and
the mouse to operate the games can help develop hand-eye coordination. Not only does this get them
more tuned to how a computer works, but it also helps to develop hand-eye coordination because
children have to look at the action on the screen whilst using their hands to control what is happening at
the same time.

5. Beneficial Specifically For Children With Attention Disorders: Research has revealed that online
games can actually help children who experience attention disorders. This was concluded by a professor
at Nottingham University, and is a notion which has been repeated by many in related studies.

6. Skill-Building (e.g. map reading): A lot of games contain certain aspects which help children with
specific skills. For example, a lot of mystery and adventure games contain maps which children will have
to read. This obviously helps their map reading skills and practical thinking. Moreover, there are games,
such as football management games, which introduce children to managing finances and general project
management.

Ans 3: Yes, these type of games help students to better understand various kind of subjects. Game-
based learning is one teaching strategy that’s growing increasingly popular to help students achieve their
learning objectives. Especially as:

1. Students are becoming tech savvy at an earlier age

2. Educational technology companies are developing more efficacious products

Researchers found proof that the employment of academic games might support and increase the
arithmetic learning outcomes. Game-based learning highlighted analysis that found educational games
play a prosperous role in terms of each a stronger understanding of the course content by the scholars
and therefore the participation of the scholars during this method.
Enhance Problem-Solving Skills:
According to some analysis studies, video games improve problem-solving skills. These analysis studies
reveal that some components of our brain might grow as a consequence of enjoying. These
components' area unit related to strategic coming up with, memory and abstraction navigation. But
again, it will want some thoughtfulness on our half. Simply don’t get smarter just by enjoying video
games all day long.

 Helps problem-solving: Game-based learning will facilitate students solve issues by fostering
skills like understanding exploit, logic and higher cognitive process they'll use in life outside of
college.
 Encourages crucial thinking: Analysis has shown that GBL will improve students’ crucial thinking
skills, “including the event of freelance beliefs before participating in cooperative discourse and
providing opportunities for guided reflection.”
 Increases student engagement and motivation: A 2019 analysis paper found once academics
incorporated digital game-based learning components like feedback, selection and collaboration
into their educational style, students become additional engaged and impelled to be told.
 Introduces situational learning: Learning doesn’t solely occur in our heads; it in reality, it’s a
basically human process

Ans 4: According to studies, employing games in the classroom can help children learn more, enhance
social and emotional learning, and encourage them to take risks. The popular multiple-choice quiz game
Kahoot was found to improve students' attitudes toward learning as well as their academic performance
in one study.

In the classroom, playing games can boost overall motivation. Students are more driven to learn, pay
attention, and participate in class activities as a result of their increased motivation. They can also be
used as a classroom management technique to assist encourage a group of students.

Game-based learning, unlike more traditional teaching approaches, allows the person being instructed
to be in charge of their own learning. Students can receive immediate and tailored feedback on their
knowledge through serious games, and everyone is aware of what they are learning and where they
need to improve.
