Intelligent and Adaptive Headlight with Electronic Controlled Power Steering

System (IAEPS)
Abstract.

According to traffic accident data, the maximum of server road accidents occurs at
night vision. Therefore of great importance to use available technology to contribute to
road safety by increase the visual conditions provided by vehicle headlights. In order to
provide improved night time safety measures, this work aims to design & build a prototype
of Intelligent and Adaptive Headlight with Electric Power Steering System. This prototype
model is focus to achieve active and passive safety system. In this an intelligent and
adaptive system is active safety system where as EPS is passive system. This idea gives
more advantages for automobile. It gives the advantages such as low level of steering
torque during static steering, increase fuel efficiency or economy, low weight of vehicle
because of using EPS system, flexibility in steering system and more space for driver and
front passenger. Keywords: Adaptive headlight system, Electronic controlled power

2. Perception of the Drivers towards the Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers to
their Safety and Driving Conveniency
Abstract.
Wiper is an essential component that used to wipe raindrops or any water from the
vehicle’s windscreen. The previous system used to activate the wiper manually and the
process of pulling up the wiper is difficult to be handled. Thus, this system is proposed to
solve these problems. The objectives of this project are to upgrade the older cars system by
providing automatic wiping system, to improve the system by using sensor with actuator
and to design a basic program that will fully operate with the system. The concept of this
proposed wiper system is similar with other existing conventional wiper. In spite of
removing water from windscreen, this system also will be upgraded to an automatic
control system by using a Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC) 16F877A controller and
water sensor. As the conclusion for the project, the results shows all the aim objectives are
successfully achieved. The wiper system was well functionally according the water
condition from the outside of a car. This project showed a contribution on the design of the
automatic wiper system for the future research in this same field. It is recommended that
the system to have a study on the wiper material that been used to make a wiper because
the driver at hot and climate country are facing the problems regards to the wiper material.

3. Identification of Dominant Noise Sources in Diesel Engines
ABSTRACT.
This paper aims to investigate and determine the primary causes of noise in a diesel
engine group using airborne acoustic measurements. The presented work is useful in
defining and enhancing the equivalent sound level and sound pressure level (SPL) at a
specific octave band. The work first describes the theoretical origins of sound and the
benefits of the time-frequency domain for the analysis of airborne acoustic signals. Then,
an experimental approach was established to identify the primary sources and the
contribution of dominant sources in the total radiated noise upon examination of the
measured data. Results showed that engine exhaust noise is the main contributor of noise,
especially in the low and mid frequency ranges due to different harmonic exciter orders.

4. Effects of Mechanical Properties of Sealing Systems on Aerodynamic

Noise Generation Inside Vehicles

One dominant “wind noise” generating mechanism in road vehicles is the
interaction between turbulent flows and flexible structures: specifically door seals and side
glass windows. In this study, the effects of seal mechanical properties on interior
aerodynamic noise were investigated. The sound transmission characteristics of seals were
first investigated.
