A. Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates understanding of whole numbers up to 100, 000
B. Performance Standard:
The learner is able to recognize and represent whole numbers up to 100,000 in various
forms and contexts
C. Learning Competency:
The learner reads and writes numbers, in symbols and in words, up to hundred
thousand and compare them using relation symbols M4NS-Ia-10.4
Lesson Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, 85% of the learners will be able to:
a. Recognize numbers in symbols and in words up to hundred thousand
b. Compare the numbers both in symbols and in words using relation symbols
c. Appreciate the importance of reading and writing numbers, in symbols and in
words to real-life situation

Task Card: Write and spell the whole numbers in words.

Group 2 – The Five (5) Senses


Task Card: Select and place the organs into their
corresponding senses. Flip the organs to reveal the
numbers and read it.

Group 3 – Number Puzzle


Task Card: Search and underline the number inside the
box.

Group 4 – Less than or Greater than


Task Card: Write three hundred thirty-three and two
hundred fifty-six in symbols and select the correct relation
symbol to compare it (<, >, =).

The teacher will introduce the concepts of reading and

Concept:
Reading and writing numbers provides the best
foundational math skills. It is important to formulate
simple ways to help learners understand and correctly
read and write whole numbers in figures/symbols or in
words.

◊ The teacher will give examples and will provide simple


ways on how to read numbers correctly.
◊ The teacher will discuss and provide techniques on how
to properly read and write numbers, in symbols and in
words.
◊ The teacher will have a quick review of the concept of
relation symbols.
◊ The teacher will provide examples with the application
of real-life situations to reach the learners’ mastery of the
content.

D. ELABORATE The pupils will acquire the techniques on how to read and
write numbers, in symbols and words and will be able to
