 Screening of different in-house ionizable lipids for different nucleic acid therapeutic delivery.
 Development and evaluation of liposome for small molecule delivery.
 Protocol development, standardization and documentation of LNP catalogue and custom
services products.
 EU-HORIZON-HLTH Project: siNPAIN- Work package and team leader for development of
targeted LNP- siRNA formulation and their physiochemical characterization for the treatment
of osteoarthritis.

 Leading the design, synthesis and evaluation of supramolecular dendrimer nano systems.
 Elaborating bioconjugated, targeted dendrimer nano system for treating cancer and infectious
diseases.

 During PhD tenure the project “Development of ionizable lipid formulation for siRNA delivery”
got selected for prestigious Raman-Charpak fellowship in the year 2016 to carryout 6-month
research internship in France by CEFIPRA which is an Indo-French bilateral government
research organization to promote scientific research between two countries. Only 25 proposals
get selected throughout India.
 Place of internship: Dr. Ling Peng group, CINaM, CNRS UMR 7325, Aix-Marseille University,
France Role:
 Lead in development of functional ionizable lipid formulations such as liposomes and micelles
for siRNA delivery.
 Experiment designing with scientist from Dr. Peng group. 3] Weekly follow-up meeting
between home and host laboratory.

 Financial management with CEFIPRA.

DST-Inspire Fellowship, November 2012 - February 2018


Ph.D.
 Dr. Dhumal was awarded with one of the most prestigious Ph.D. research fellowships, INSPIRE
from Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India in the year of 2012
for his Ph.D. project of “Design and synthesis of heterolysis for pharmaceutical applications”.
This fellowship is only awarded to the Ph.D. candidates who has stood first in university exams
at the Master’s level. Dr. Dhumal completed his Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. K. G.
Akamanchi at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India.
 Lead in project design
 Design, development and synthesis of functional ionizable lipid excipients.
 Development and characterization of lipid based drug delivery systems such as liposomes,
micelles and nano emulsions by encapsulating small therapeutic molecules and siRNA with
their anticancer applications.
 Project management and monitoring with international collaborators.
 Publication and grant writing.
 Mentoring masters and undergraduate students.
 Yearly financial and research progress report submission to DST).
