Day 7 (September 21, 2021)

Today is my seventh day as a practice teacher in Bright Beginnings Academy.

Same as yesterday, I started my day after entering the zoom meeting and admitting all

the students in Grade 4 –Faith. I also started checked in the students in Little Lives app

before Teacher Judy did the opening today. After the opening, Teacher Judy played the

video of students who participated in their Music festival. The students are all smiles

when they saw their classmates and themselves performing.

In their Filipino subject, Teacher Jhamina facilitated an activity about pandiwa.

She called on students who will give the clues by doing actions and their classmates will

guess about it. The students had fun guessing what action words are they classmates

acting. After that, they answered the activities in their books and continued on to their

next subjects. Grade 4 – Faith students had a lot of things to share especially in their

discussions. The teachers called them one by one and allow them to share their

thoughts. The teachers also supplements a lot of questions so that the students will be

able to understand what they were discussing. When their class are done, the grade 4

students went on to their consultations hours so that they will be reminded of the

homework and seatwork they had to accomplish. Before the consultation hour ends, I

checked out all the pupils and prepared for my next class observation.

In the afternoon, it was the time for me to observe the Grade 1 – Patience.

Teacher Pauline was the one who did the opening for the class where they prayed,

greeted each other and had their opening dance. She reminded them of their dos and

don’ts in the class and she asked to prepare for their subject today. During one of their
classes, the grade 1 pupils heard a story in their ESP subject. But before that, the

teacher unlocked first the unfamiliar words so that the pupils would be able to

understand especially to those who are having a hard time in Filipino language. After

the story, the teacher asked a few questions to assess if the pupils understood the story

and to lead them to their current topic. The pupils were also able to share to their

thoughts about the story and share their experiences relying on their teacher’s guided

questions. When they finished all their classes, all the Grade 1 pupils carried on their

consultations hours. After that, I checked out all the pupils to complete my tasks for that

day.
