1.1.4 If the Particular specification given hereunder differ from IS Code provisions in
any respect, the former shall prevail.
2. PILES
2.1 The piles shall be bored cast-in-situ type as per IS code 2911-part I section 2-
1979 as amended upto date.
2.2 The piles shall be of reinforced cement concrete of design mix of specified grade
by using not less than 400 kg of cement per cubic metre of concrete. The cement
concrete shall be subject to cube test for compression strength and its
acceptability will be as per CPWD specifications 2019 vol I & II. The clear cover
to main reinforcement in pile shaft shall not be less than 60 mm.
2.3.14 In Pile grouping the distance centre of piles shall not be less than 2.5 times the
diameter of the pile. A record shall be kept of the volume of concrete poured into
each pile and this shall be compared with the theoretical volume of the bore in
order check continuity of pile.
3.1 RCC pile cap over the pile (or) group of piles shall be constructed integral with
grade beams at required levels as directed by Engineer-in-Charge
3.2 The Minimum length of the dowel bars to be left for extension of the column shall
be 57 times the dia of the bar. The details of number and sizes of bars to be
provided shall be supplied by the Department. Not more than one third of the
dowel bars shall be terminated at a particular section of the column.
4.1 The routine/initial tests on single pile shall be carried out as per the procedure
laid down in IS code of practice, IS 2911 (Part-IV) 1985 as amended upto date.
However, the total test load for routine tests shall not exceed 1.5 times the safe
working load or up to a settlement of 10% of the pile diameter or 12mm
whichever occurs earlier.
4.2 The safe load on piles shall be determined in accordance with clause 6.1.5 and
6.1.1.5.1 of IS code 2911 (Part-IV) as amended up to date.
4.3 Working piles shall be not be used as Anchor piles for doing load test.
5. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
5.1 The test shall be considered satisfactory if the assessed safe load from the test
works out to be not less than the estimated safe bearing capacity of the pile and
the behavior of the pile (or) the pile group during the period of testing does not
disclose any defects.
5.2 If the pile group does not satisfy the above acceptance conditions, corrective
measures shall be proposed by the contractor and got approved by the Engineer-
in-Charge. These corrective measures may include provision of additional piles
etc. So as to give adequate bearing capacity to the piles. If in the opinion of the
Engineer-in-Charge it is necessary to reject the pile and provide entirely new
additional as corrective measure the contractor shall do so. The decision of the
Engineer- in-Charge of the work shall be final in the matter. The additional
expenditure incurred by the contractor for such corrective measures shall be
borne by the contractor.
5.3 Part payment only shall be made for the working piles till be routine test on
piles are carried out satisfactory as per specifications and the test results are
approved by the Department.
5.4 For routine load tests, payment for the test piles and for testing shall be made to the
tenderer, only when load test is found to be satisfactory. For test piles and tests
which are found unsatisfactory or which are not complete due to any reason
whatsoever, no payment shall be made to the contractor.

under reamed RCC piles as per is code No. IS code No. IS 2911-Part-1/Section-
2 and construction of pile caps and grade beams and to leave necessary dowel
bars in pile caps for raising RCC columns there from all as per approved design
drawings.
1.2 The Tenderer should not quote for any other type of piles than the bored cast-in-
situ piles and should quote the rates in the schedule attached with the tender
documents only and in accordance with the general conditions and particular
specifications.

schedule of quantities will not be entertained and such tenders are liable to be
rejected.

3. Bore log charts for the bore holes done at site giving approximate details of site and
soil conditions are also appended. These are only indicative of the prevailing soil
conditions.
3.1 The schedule of quantities in this tender is based on the following estimated safe
capacity of the pile bored cast-in-situ pile:
5 All piles shall be cast with sulphate resistant of ordinary Portland cement as
decided by the Engineer-in-Charge. All piles caps are grade beams shall be cast
with ordinary Portland cement.
6. The contractor should arrange the progress of work in such a way that there
