WORLD’S DANGEROUS VIRUS

Hi I am Julianna Maxeen Anonuevo I will show or I will tell you the story about COVID-19 well I
guess you all know about what happened to whole world but I want to let you know again
about how it starts. So at the month of December we are having fun, we’re expecting 2020 to
be a year full of fun, but when the whole world shocks about what happened to province in
china, Wuhan went into an unprecedented lockdown on 23 January - at a time where the virus had
killed 17 people and affected more than 400.

It was a week after China confirmed that human-to-human transmission of the virus had taken
place, something not previously proven.
China or wuhan china it’s all about the virus called corona virus its start when they selling or
eating wild animal even if it’s not cook they will eat it. The whole province went lockdown not
until it spreads in other parts of china but that’s not the end because it spread in whole world.
At first Philippines is in peace it seems normal the airport is more secured they checking the
body temperature. But when someone enters positive here in Philippines it fast to spread the
virus all over the Luzon.
By March 16,2020, Luzon started a quarantine, many people lost their job but we know that this
is for our safety. As of May 11, 2020 we have total confirmed cases of 11,086, deaths 726,
recoveries 1999. The virus spread all over the region on June 2020, Cebu City rank no. 1 in
central visayas with total cases of 5,088 total recoveries 2,284 and total deaths of 118, in other
country Italy becomes the most confirmed cases with 330,263 deaths 36,030, recoveries
234,099, imagine how Italy suffered from the virus their president cried after knowing what
happened to his country.

COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to
moderate illness and recover without hospitalization.

Most common symptoms:

fever
dry cough
tiredness
Less common symptoms:
aches and pains
sore throat
diarrhoea
conjunctivitis
headache
loss of taste or smell
a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes
Serious symptoms:
difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
chest pain or pressure
loss of speech or movement
Seek immediate medical attention if you have serious symptoms. Always call before visiting
your doctor or health facility.
People with mild symptoms who are otherwise healthy should manage their symptoms at
home.
On average it takes 5–6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to
show, however it can take up to 14 days.

In Southeast Asia, the Philippines ranks second behind Indonesia in the number of active cases
with 58,606

COVID-19 cases in the Philippines reached 319,330 as of Saturday, October 3, as the

Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,674 newly-confirmed cases.
The bulk of the newly reported cases were from the National Capital Region with 1,046 cases.
This was followed by the following areas:
 Cavite – 257;
 Rizal – 165;
 Batangas – 137;
 Laguna – 121.
Meanwhile, total death toll stood at 5,678 with 62 new reported deaths, while total recoveries
reached 255,046 with 459 new recoveries.
This brings the country’s total active cases to 58,606. The DOH said majority or 87.1% of the
active cases reported are mild, 8.8% asymptomatic, 2.8% critical, and 1.2% severe.
Except on October 1 when the DOH reported 3,101 new cases, the Philippines recorded less
than 3,000 new daily cases since September 2. We can’t stop this kind of pandemic for just
listening to the government because sometimes it is not government fault it’s up to us how we
handle the safety of each family members. Always wear protective equipment such as facemask
and alcohol because at this kind of pandemic we don’t know where the virus is, so always be
safe.

While the first outbreak was identified in December 2019 in the now infamous Wuhan, no one
realised the significant global and economic impact it would have on January 11, China recorded
it’s first COVID-19 death and on March 11, 2020 the WHO declared coronavirus a pandemic. As
of April 2nd, the global coronavirus cases surpassed one million. Today, most countries are
gingerly stepping out of lockdown and trying to resume life. However, 5 months into 2020 there
is still no vaccine or medication for coronavirus.

ORIGIN
Coronavirus are a group of viruses that can cause disease in both animals and humans. The
severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) virus strain known as SARS-CoV is an example of a
coronavirus. This new strain likely came from bats, though one study suggest pangolinjs may be
the origin.

CAUSES

The virus that causes COVID-19 is in a family of viruses called Coronaviridae. Antibiotics do not
work against viruses. Some people who become ill with COVID-19 can also develop a bacterial
infection as a complication. In this case, antibiotics may be recommended by a health care
provider. There is currently no licensed medication to cure COVID-19, if you have symptoms,
call your health care provider or COVID-19 hotline for assistance.
