manually by following these steps.
• Enter the Latitude, Longitude, and true heading of the antenna.
• Click the set position button to save the position before a locate.
The controller will now use this position in calculating the satellite look angles.
Target Satellite
In the middle section, the target satellite longitude and polarization data are entered. Note the
polarization setting for this is the Receive downlink polarization (not the transmit polarization)
of the target satellite. Proper data must be entered and saved to perform locates. The LNB LO
frequency must also be defined properly for the particular LNB being used. Currently the LO is

a setting that is not shown on the GUI and must be entered from the front panel – see first section
of this quick start guide for instructions on how to enter the correct LO frequency.
DVBS-1 and DVBS-2 carriers can be programmed into the controller at the bottom of the page
(up to 3). These carriers are called signposts and are used by the controller to positively identify
and peak on a satellite and obtain an accurate azimuth heading. The accurate azimuth heading is
then used to locate and peak on the target satellite. DVB information can be easily found on
websites like www.lyngsat.com.
To define the DVB signpost satellite, its longitude, polarization, frequency, symbol rate, and
FEC must be entered and saved. Note again, the LNB LO frequency must be defined properly
for the particular LNB being used. Currently the LO is a setting that is not shown on the GUI
and must be entered from the front panel – see first section of this quick start guide for
instructions on how to enter the correct LO frequency.
