Formation Introduction TECH At the beginning of the year we will be concentrating on learning two main formations. The first formation will be called Tech and it is a double tight (two tight ends, Y and Z lined up next to the offensive tackles) with two wing backs (backs #2 and #4) and a fullback (back #3). The formation seen below would be called Tech left.
SHIP The second formation that we will be learning will be called Ship. This formation is an I formation (two running backs lined up one behind the other) with two tight ends and a wide receiver. The alignment of the formation is determined by where the X receiver is lined up. The formation below would be Ship Right.

When the formation is flipped, only the X, Y and Z players need to change their alignment as seen below.

Hole Numbering System The hole numbering system is odd holes to the left of center and even holes to the centers right. The 0 hole would be right up the back of the center and the rest of the holes correspond to the gap between two offensive linemen. (The 4hole is the gap between the right offensive guard and the right offensive tackle)
Back Numbering System The running backs and quarter back are referenced by the following numbering system: 1-Back Quarterback 2-Back Halfback 3-Back Fullback 4-Back Wingback (The 4-Back becomes the X receiver when we run a formation with two running backs in the backfield.)
