Sabah (East Malaysia) occupies about 76 115
km2 at the northeast of the island of Borneo.
Much of the topography is rugged, especially
on the west coast. The state is built mainly of
very thick, folded, Upper Cretaceous to
Tertiary marine sedimentary rocks, with lavas
and plutonites, and subordinate Mesozoic
metamorphic rocks.

Post Conference: Field Trip
Option 1 (Sandakan Area) : 2D1N/3D2N Bilit Rainforest Lodge;
Sepilok OrangUtan / Kinabatangan River
Head over to the famous Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre located at the Kabili-
Sepilok Forest Reserve.
Enjoy and explore as you get to encounter Bornean-endemic Orang Utans up close as
they frolic in their natural habitat.
Embark on a 2-hour journey through rustic countryside villages to the Bilit Jetty.
Upon arrival at the jetty, you will take a short boat ride to Bilit Rainforest Lodge located
at Bilit Village.
In the evening, you will be take a river cruise along the Kinabatangan River to encounter
wildlife situated along the river. A few favourites include the Proboscis Monkey, rare bird
species of Borneo, and maybe even Pygmy Elephants!

Option 2 (Lahad Datu Area) : 3D2N Tabin Wildlife Reserve or
3D2N Borneo Rainforest Lodge
The exclusive rainforest resort located within Tabin Wildlife Reserve, is the largest wildlife
reserve in Malaysia with a total land area of 123,000 hectares. If you are a traveler drawn
to the beauty of exotic Borneo Island, then Tabin Wildlife Reserve, winner of the “Most
promising tourist attraction” award, is one of the places you should not miss.
Bohey Dulang island is the second-largest island in the Tun Sakaran Marine Park, the
journey from Semporna to this island takes around 35 minutes by speed boat. You can enjoy
a hiking activity on this island, and it takes about 45 minutes to an hour for you to reach its
353 meters peak top. Along with your hiking journey, you will be accompanied by the
island's unique flora and fauna such as colorful birds, monkeys(Long-tailed macaque), and
rare plants that grow on volcanic rocks.
