Audioscript

Edith: Hi, Neil. What’s wrong?

Neil: Oh, hi, Edith. My Maths teacher is angry with me.
Edith: Why is she angry?
Neil: I was late for school this morning – again! But there were a lot of cars on the roads and …
Edith: There are a lot of cars every morning! Did you come to school by car?
Neil: Yes, my dad sometimes drives me. There isn’t a bus from my house to the school.
Edith: I came to school on foot this morning and I walked faster than the cars!
Neil: I know! But you’re lucky. You live near the school – and I don’t.
Edith: Hmm. Why didn’t you come by bike? It’s better than going by car.
Neil: No, I hate cycling! But I’d like to ride a motorbike … My big brother’s got a fantastic new motorbike.
Edith: Ooh! I love them. I’m going to buy one when I’m eighteen. My parents think they’re too dangerous but
I’m going to be careful.
Neil: You know, this town needs an underground! That’s the best transport.
Edith: You’re right, but this town is too small for an underground.
