VALUES ARE BASIC AND FUNDAMENTAL BELIEF THAT GUIDE OR MOTIVATE

ATTITUDES TOWARD ACTIONS.

VALUES ARE INDIVIDUAL BELIEFS THAT MOTIVATE PEOPLE TO ACT ONE WAY OR
ANOTHER. THEY SERVE AS A GUIDE FOR HUMAN BEHAVIOUR. SOME VALUES HAVE
INTRINSIC WORTH, SUCH AS LOVE, TRUTH, AND FREEDOM. OTHER VALUES, SUCH AS
AMBITION, RESPONSIBILITY, AND COURAGE, DESCRIBE TRAITS OR BEHAVIOUR THAT
ARE INSTRUMENTAL AS MEANS TO AN END.

ETHICS IS CONCERN WITH HUMAN ACTIONS AND THE CHOICE OF THOSE ACTIONS.

ETHICS IS A SYSTEM OF MORAL PRINCIPLES ETHICS IS CONCERNED WITH WHAT IS

GOOD FOR INDIVIDUALS AND SOCIETY AND IS ALSO DESCRIBED AS MORAL
PHILOSOPHY. THE TERM ETHICS IS DERIVED FROM THE GREEK WORD ETHOS WHICH
MEANS CUSTOM, HABIT, CHARACTER OR DISPOSITION.

 We will discuss about the values education, importance of values education in life
and schools

we consider something as important when it has great significance, value, or consequence. how do values
then become important in our lives? there are many definitions of values: “A VALUE IS A BELIEF UPON
WHICH ONE ACTS BY PREFERENCE”(Allport,1950);” A value is a conception explicit or implicit of th
desirable which influences the selection from available modes means, and ends of action(kluckhohn, 1951);

“a value is the object of positive attitudes (bulatao,1961) while the terms used in the definitions differ, there
appears to be an agreement that values influence behaviour values therefore are important in our lives
because of their intimate link and impact to our behaviour. (bulatao1961) declares” our values color our
human act and are reflected in every product of our human soul.”

WHAT IS VALUES EDUCATION?

Value education means teaching and learning of ideals. the aim is for student to understand moral values and
show their good behaviour and attitudes towards society.

Value education is to teach universal values like moral values, patience, honesty and etc to the students. the
purpose of value education is the development of the personality of the student.

In todays world here is crime increasing day by day instead of literacy rate. the benefit like patience,
honesty, tolerance and sympathy are extreme values for education. this will enhance your positive attitude
instead of negative attitudes.

value education also is a process by which people give moral values to each other. so when we talk about
moral values it is concen with RIGHT OR WRONG GOOD OR BAD, example of that is being honest and
trustworthy so do you believe in the sayings that honesty is the best policy? very good we people should be
honest bcoz it mold us to become a good person. it is essential to develop an individual and gives a positive
direction to the children to shape their future and even helps them to know the purpose of their life.

the purpose of the development of the personality of the children. the children should develop in all
dimentions so that they can serve the nation more democratic, cohesive, socially and responsibly

education is critical in the life of a person. this will give you success and a better future. the people who are
educated can survive in the competitive world more precisely as compared to uneducated. education can
gives you a better living opportunities and good work.

IMPORTANCE OF VALUE EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS

1. Character development

the value education helps the students to develop the character. this improves the inner personality of the
students the mental level also improves bt this.

2. personality development

the value education helps the student to develop the inner and external personality of the student. the
physical, social and mental personality will emerge of the student.

3. citizenship education

this includes the social and behavioural aspects of the students develop towards citizenship of the student.
