TASK 25-50-00-871-802-A01
Introduction

1. General

A. This CMM is only applicable to Cargo Linings.

B. Important information.
This CMM does not use component Part Numbers (PNs) to show applicable tasks and
procedures for Cargo Lining PNs.
You must use the Cargo Lining category to identify the materials and to find the applicable
repair information for Cargo Linings.
The part number PN ATA255000SA320 shown in this CMM is not an Airbus component
PN, it is used for administration only.

2. This CMM gives the operator the necessary data for identification, inspection and repair using
locally made Cargo Linings for replacement of components which are damaged in service.
The operator can use this data to:
- Know if repair by locally made Cargo Linings is possible
- Find the applicable material to locally make Cargo Linings.
Then, see the applicable AIM for the procedures.

3. How to use the Manual

- Refer to the questionnaire (See Task 51-12-00-300-801-A-01) to help you make sure that
the manual is applicable to your component
- Use the instructions in this manual for all the component maintenance
- Read all the applicable WARNINGS and CAUTIONS before you do the work on the Cargo
Linings.

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

**For PN's ATA255000SA320

TASK 25-50-00-870-801-A01
Description and Operation of Cargo Linings.

1. Cargo Linings

A. The lower deck of the aircraft has two cargo holds (the FWD cargo hold and the AFT cargo
hold). These two cargo holds are divided to make three, under floor cargo compartments.
The AFT lower deck has 2 compartments, the AFT cargo compartment and the AFT bulk
cargo compartment.
A net divides these AFT compartments.
All of these compartments contain a Cargo Lining.

B. The Cargo Lining has the following function:

- to seal the cargo hold around its support structure
- to keep smoke, flames or extinguishing agents out of all other compartments
- to prevent damage to equipment, pipes, electrical wires that are behind it
- to make sure a pressure compensation is kept between the cabin and the cargo holds
- to be resistant to handling loads.

2. Category of Cargo Lining

A. There are various categories of Cargo Lining, as shown in the list below, see also Tables 1-
2 at Task 25-50-00-300-801-A.
- E-glass (electric grade fibre glass), sandwich panel
- H-profile
- laminated lining panel
- S-glass (high strength fibre glass), sandwich panel
- decompression panel E-glass
- decompression panel S-glass, ceiling
- decompression panel S-glass, sidewall and partition
- sidewall, ceiling, decompression blow-in/blow-out panel, partition, door lining.

3. Limits and restrictions

A. Important information, the cargo linings with a rapid decompression function (installed on
Aircraft post MOD 155973) cannot be made locally.

Page 1

TASK 25-50-00-300-801-A01
Replacement of Cargo Lining

1. Reason for the Job

This procedure gives a repair by locally making a new Cargo Lining to replace components
which are damaged in service.

2. Job Set-up Information

3. Job Setup

WARNING : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE

MATERIAL MANUFACTURER’S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL
REGULATIONS.

CAUTION : USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED CLEANING AGENTS. CLEANING AGENTS WHICH
ARE NOT SPECIFIED CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

Subtask:25-50-00-300-004-A01
A. Limits and Restrictions

(1) Important information, the cargo linings with a rapid decompression function cannot be
made locally (See FIGURE 25-50-00-991-004-A).

(2) Airbus permits you to locally make cargo linings, decompression panels , ACT-heat
shield panel (referred to in the text as ’Panels’) using these conditions and limits:

Page 6001
25-50-00 Oct 01/22
@AIRBUS
COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL

- The locally made Panel is a necessary solution for Aircraft On Ground (”AOG”),
when no applicable repairs are possible.
- If spare components are not available from Airbus, its licensees or other approved
sources, in a lead time that is shorter or equal to, the time which the airline can get
such Airbus parts, and on condition that the airline must not sell such Airbus parts.
- To locally make the Panels, you must only use the approved materials shown in
Tables 1 to 2 of this task procedure.
- Locally made Panels (made by the operator or its maintenance provider) must only
be used by an operator for their Aircraft.
- An operator or maintenance provider can locally make Panels, but only for the
operators’ aircraft.
- The locally made Panels must obey the regulations and procedures of the
operator’s local Airworthiness Authority.
- The locally made Panels must only use a part number given by the operator. Use
of an Airbus Part Number (P/N) for locally made Panels is not permitted.
- The authority to locally make the Panels is not a guarantee or an approval of these
Panels.
- The authority to locally manufacture the Panels is an agreement that the operator
must indemnify and hold harmless Airbus, its directors, officers, employees, agents
and representatives from and against all claims, including legal fees and court
costs, as a result of the use of the locally made Panels, by the operator.
- If one or more of the above is not fulfilled, Airbus can withdraw authorization and
reserves all rights related to the Panels.

NOTE : When you use a replacement material to make a cargo lining, make sure that
the weight stays at the correct weight limit. See the applicable AIM for weight
data.

4. Procedure

Subtask:25-50-00-300-001-A01
A. Replacement of Cargo Lining

(1) This procedure is for a replacement of a cargo lining and related components, when
damage is more than the Allowable Damage Limits for applicable repairs. See AMM
25-50-00-08.
Use this CMM chapter and the documents that follow, to locally make cargo lining,
decompression panels and ACT-heat shield:
- Airbus technical documentation (IPC, Definition/Installation drawings and AMM
procedures)

Page 6002
25-50-00 Oct 01/22
@AIRBUS
COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL

- Airline Instruction Manual - AIM (one per semi-finished material supplier, available
from the supplier: The Gill Corporation AIM 2001, Hutchinson Les Stratifies AIM
3455) for the manufacturing procedures of cargo lining, decompression panels and
ACT-heat shield
- Definition / Installation drawings, to find the definition of a finished part
(dimensions, location of inserts, holes, etc)
- IPC and the AMM procedures, to find the location removal and installation of the
part.

(2) Refer to the list of component categories shown in the Airline Instruction Manual (AIM),
to make sure that your component can be replaced.

(3) Chose the correct material for the applicable cargo lining category.
There are various categories of cargo lining. Thus, it is important to correctly identify
them to select the applicable material so that you can make a replacement locally.
The cargo lining categories are shown in Tables 1-2 below, see also Fig 1.
For correct identification of the cargo lining category, you must find :
- The lining location in the cargo hold (FR24A, FR28, FR34, FR35, FR35.5, FR47,
FR47.2,FR52A, FR55A, FR56, FR59, FR65.)
- The lining type (sidewall, ceiling, decompression blow-in/blow-out panel, partition,
door lining)
- The lining generation : E Glass (electric grade fibre glass) or S Glass (high
strength fibre glass).

(4) Refer to the instructions for semi-finished material, shown in the applicable Airline
Instruction Manual (AIM) and install the replacement component.
