1) What are the root causes that bring emerging technologies and what
impact do they have on Individuals, Society, and Environment?
. For a technology to be classified as emerging, it is characterized by rapid growth, impact, radical
novelty, coherence, and, sometimes, uncertainty and ambiguity. Examples of emerging technology can
include: Artificial intelligence (AI) Gene therapy 3d printing robotics etc. Each of these emerging
technologies has the potential to create a significant competitive advantage for businesses in the near
future. For example, artificial intelligence can be used in many different industries, including IT, medicine,
finance, and more. This technology is making our smartphones smarter, providing deeper, more valuable
insight into data, and making cloud-based tools more efficient. In terms of impact, these technologies have
the power to change the way we work.so we can say that the cause that bring Emerging Technology Is to
make our life easier.
. as individual the use of technologies in our life is become very increasing for example we use our
mobile phone to make calls to take photos and also other technologies to like computer and these
technologies may affect our life on positive or negative way when we see the positive one These
technologies are making our life much simpler now we are so bounded with technologies that we can’t
even imagine how hard it is to live Our life
. Technology affects the way individuals communicate, learn, and think. It helps society and
determines how people interact with each other on a daily basis. Technology plays an important role in
society today. It has positive and negative effects on the world and it impacts daily lives. We are living in an
era where technological advances are common. The internet and cell phones are some examples.
However, with technological advances, there’s a downside to it all. One aspect of technology that has had
a great impact on society is how it affects learning. It’s made learning more interactive and collaborative,
this helps people better engage with the material that they are learning and have trouble with. Also, it gets
you better access to resources.
With the creation of the internet, it gives us access to information at a twenty-four-hour rate and you have
access to almost anything online. In addition, it allows students to get work done easier. Students can take
quizzes and exams more easily, and teachers being able to hold online classes can be very effective. It also
expands the boundaries of the classroom, encouraging self-paced learning. People can access learning
through YouTube and social media. This helps students learn better than sitting down for lectures and
reading from textbooks.
These technological advancements made learning more fun and convenient. Another way technology has
impacted society is through communication, how we talk and communicate with one another worldwide.
Technology brought many new methods of electronic communication. For example, there are emails,
social networking, you can FaceTime a person that lives on the other side of the world, and here’s video
conferencing where you can have conferences electronically. Lastly, the technological advancements that
were made within the health industry have helped keep people safe and healthy. There are many innovate
apps on phones that although people to watch their weight, how many calories they intake, heart rate and
other health properties any time of the day.
There’s increased accessibility of treatment available, there’s the change in healthcare that adds benefits
for the elderly, and hospitals using advanced technology within their surgical rooms. However, studies
show that mobile communication affects people in a negative way when it comes to being sociable and
making face-to-face contact. Mobile technology can decrease communication and relations between
people. There’s less personal time, where you find that you don’t enough time for yourself because you’re
always in contact with someone. Also, it can be distracting from your schoolwork. There is also loss of
privacy, because anyone can find you anywhere, at any time of the day. In conclusion, all of these things
impact how humans act today. Without technological advancements, our way of life would not be as
complex. Technological influences shape the way humans act today.
. New technologies carry both the promise of improvement of human welfare and the threat of undesired
environmental consequences. Applying life cycle assessment (LCA) early in the development of
technologies – when still at lab or pilot scale – provides valuable insights about how to prioritize research
activities and to potentially avoid damage to the environment. LCA quantifies environmental and resources
impacts of products and technologies from raw material extraction and processing, through a product’s
manufacture, distribution and use, to recycling or final disposal. LCA of emerging technologies can help
research and development (R&D) groups, planners, and policymakers look ahead and identify
environmental and resource implications, potential liabilities, and other unanticipated consequences of
products and technologies early in innovation.

2)Discuss briefly the fundamental transitions that happened during Industrial

Revolution 1.0 and revolution 4.0
. The 1st industrial revolution
. The first industrial revolution began in the 18th century The transitions in the first IR included going from
hand production methods to machines, the increasing use of steam power the major things about industrial
revolution 1.0 are steam engine and starting using Machines.
4th Industrial Revolution
We are currently implementing the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This is characterized by the application of
information and communication technologies to industry and is also known as "Industry 4.0". It builds on
the developments of the Third Industrial Revolution. Production systems that already have computer
technology are expanded by a network connection and have a digital twin on the Internet so to speak. These
allow communication with other facilities and the output of information about themselves. This is the next
step in production automation. The networking of all systems leads to "cyber-physical production systems"
and therefore smart factories, in which production systems, components and people communicate via a
network and production is nearly autonomous.

3)What are the major inventions during the industrial revolution?

Some of the inventions during the industrial revolution are
-steam engine -railway(train)
-dynamite -photograph
-typewriter electricity
4) Mention and briefly describe the four basic types of device in digital
electronics system
. Memory-the device that store random information such as the contents of a spreadsheet or database.
. Microprocessors- executes software instructions to perform a wide variety of tasks such as running a word
processing program or video game.
. logic devices – is an electronic component used to build reconfigurable digital circuits provide specific
functions, including device-to-device interfacing, data communication, signal processing, data display,
timing and control operations, and almost every other function a system must perform
. network- A network consists of multiple devices that communicate with one another. It can be as small as
two computers or as large as billions of devices. While a traditional network is comprised of desktop
computers, modern networks may include laptops, tablets, smartphones, televisions, gaming consoles, smart
appliances, and other electronics.
Many types of networks exist, but they fall under two primary categories: LANs and WANs (e.g. internet).

5)Describe about the following network enabling devices such as MODEM,

Router & Switch.?
Modem- a combination for modulation and demodulation, for example between the digital
Data of a computer and the analogue signal of phone line
Router- A router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers
perform the traffic directing functions on the Internet. Data sent through the internet, such as a web page or
email, is in the form of data packets. A packet is typically forwarded from one router to another router
through the networks that constitute an internetwork (e.g. the Internet) until it reaches its destination node. A
router is connected to two or more data lines from different IP networks. When a data packet comes in on
one of the lines, the router reads the network address information in the packet header to determine the
ultimate destination. Then, using information in its routing table or routing policy, it directs the packet to the
next network on its journey. The most familiar type of IP routers are home and small office routers that
simply forward IP packets between the home computers and the Internet.
Switch-in context of networking, is a high speed device that receive incoming data packets and redirects
them to their destination on a local area network
Essentially, switches are the traffic cops of a simple local area network. Switching establishes the trajectory
for the frames as the data moves from one area network to another

6)What is Human Computer Interaction (HCI)? Discuss the main goals of HCI?
. human computer interaction (HCI)-is study of how people interact with computers and to what extent
Computes are or not developed for successful interaction with human beings. Since human computer studies
the interaction between human and computer it is associated with the study fields such as human behavior
psychology, cognitive science, computer science and software engineering.
. A basic goal of HCI IS to improve the interaction between users and computers by making computer more
usable and more recipient to user needs and to produce usable and safe systems in in order to produce a
system with good usability, developers must attempt to understand the factors that determine how people use
technology.
