EVENT NAME: Battle of the Brains

ORGANIZING COMMITTEE: SBO – Dentistry Student Council


THEME: “To be Announced”
This event aims to promote the critical thinking and analysis of the dentistry students in
the field of dental oral health and general health.
Objectives:
 Adding a more exciting, quick-fire way to determine medical knowledge.
 Highlights the abilities of Dentistry Student to react under pressure.
 Again, another departure from traditional quizzes held in school.

General Guidelines
● All bonafide students of the UPH-DJGTMU are allowed to enter their teams.
● Teams of 2 per year team.
● The winners will be awarded a certificate and a cash prize.

Gamechanging Techniques

Instructions:
1. Students compete for points across 3 rounds. The most points after 3 rounds wins.
a. 1st Round - At least 15 questions must be chosen.
b. 2nd Round- At least 10 questions must be chosen.
c. 3rd Round - 5 set questions with fixed categories.
2. The board is composed of 6 columns of categories with 5 questions under each category
until the Final round. Each question will have different points equivalent per round (see
table above).
3. The final round will have only 5 categories with one question in each category.

HOW TO PLAY
1. The first team to choose a category in the beginning of the game will be decided by the
organizers through Random Number Generator.
2. They now must choose one of the panels under each category to reveal a question.
a. They have around 30 seconds to answer the question. A right answer grants
them the ability to choose another question until they get two wrong answers and
their turn is forfeit.
b. If they fail to answer within the time or are incorrect, another person may steal.
i. If the steal is incorrect, the correct answer is revealed.
ii. The team that chose the question may choose another question, but if they
get it incorrect again their turn is forfeit.

3. If the answer steal is correct, that team now has control of the board and are now the
ones selecting the questions. The aforementioned rules in Section 2 now apply to them.
4. The round will continue until the time has elapsed or all the questions have been
answered.
5. There are no hints or lifelines.
6. The final round will have 5 categories with only one question in each category. The
teams are to answer them all at the same time and are given 2 minutes to answer all
questions.
7. The most points at the end of the game is declared the winner.

EVENT NAME: Singing Competition


ORGANIZING COMMITTEE: SBO – Dentistry Student Council
Objectives:
● To showcase the talents, skills, and creativity of the MU students;
● To bring enjoyment and relaxation to MU students
Venue: TBA
When: February 2023
Hosts: TBA

GUIDELINES:
I. Eligibility of participants
1. This competition is open to all bona fide students of UPH-DJGTMU in the
second semester of A.Y. 2021-2022
2. Every college department must have one (1) male or female representative.
3. Students who already gained the title as champion on the same event for the
previous years are not allowed to participate.

4. Participants must submit the following:

a. A scanned copy of the Yellow Registration Form


b. A scanned copy of school I.D.
5. The requirements mentioned above must be submitted to their respective
SBO officers. The submission shall be accomplished on or before (Date) at
(Time).
**Note: If REGISTRATION FORM IS NOT AVAILABLE, the participant must submit a letter
signed by their department’s Dean that he/she is currently enrolled. This only applies for
REGISTRATION FORM and not SCHOOL I.D.

II. Song choices:


1. The chosen song must be one of those which was released, and gained
popularity during the quarantine period, in relation to the said theme
2. Can be a local or international song
3. No specific genre is required
4. Must not contain any malicious or offensive lyrics

III. Preparation of Entries


1. All participants who successfully accomplished their registration shall attend
the meeting that will take place on (Date) at (Time) with the SSC Officers.
The theme, length of performance, and rules will be thoroughly explained to
the participants.
2. The participant must notify the designated SSC Officer of their song choice
on or before (Date) at (Time) to avoid similarity with another contestant.
3. Failure to follow the guidelines/mechanics may affect the score and or be
subject to DISQUALIFICATION.

Criteria for judging:


In case of a tie, the judges are given the sole authority to break it, in which case, the
board’s decision shall be deemed final.
