The Art of Productivity by Jack Freeman
Listen and listen closely, I am not extraordinarily intelligent nor special in any
shape, way, or form. I just learned and practiced what I now call the art of
productivity, which inspired me to create this guide for anyone who wants to
change their life just as I have.
In this guide I go over in extreme detail, step-by-step, what I practiced personally
on a daily basis to reach peak productivity. I still practice what I preach in this
guide but this guide is to be followed for 20 days at first because it normally takes
20 days to instill and solidify new healthy habits which will be followed by a new
healthy mindset.
Get ready for a new and improved you, a you that will be productive like you have
never been before.
Get ready to start kicking ass and taking names, and if you really want to reach
peak productivity you should not only follow this guide for 20 days, but eventually
make it your lifestyle, something you practice daily for the rest of your life.
As the great Napoleon Hill stated, “patience, persistence and perspiration
make an unbeatable combination for success,” and, “whatever the mind of
man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Follow the 20-day routine that
I preach in The Art of Productivity and you will come to realize that these quotes
by Napoleon Hill are not only true, but will become true for yourself.
The human brain thinks more clearly early in the morning which
will aid you in making better decisions. This will translate to you
being more efficient in setting goals and then taking action to
accomplish them.
Most of you reading this probably have 9-5 jobs, so waking up at 5 am
will allow you to get an early start on accomplishing the rest of
principles that this guide will entail.
If waking up early is very hard for you here is a good tip, don’t sleep
with dark blind or curtains. The natural light from the sun will surely
wake you up.
going to feel, the less you eat the energized and focused you’re going to
feel.
find fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat. If you can afford to spend a few
extra bucks stick to organic food.
Here is some extra advice, if you’re diet includes carbohydrates stay
away from grains such as bread, rice, and pasta. Stick to legumes,
potatoes, and similar vegetables.
Here is are the guidelines that I use for optimal productivity.
A high protein diet with moderate fats and moderate carbs
(50/25/25).
2 meals a day with no snacks in-between, the 1st will be after your
cold shower and your last will be whatever you feel is best for you
(I eat my last meal closer to my bedtime so that I don’t go to bed
hungry).
No processed food.
Only what you find in the produce section and fresh meat.
For dairy stay away from cheese since most of it is processed. Milk
is fine, just don’t overdo it.
Observe the emotions you feel when each thought pops up and then
leaves your mind.
Notice how you have no control of your thoughts but how one thought
leads to another thought, like a chain reaction.
You are going to do this for 30 minutes, and I’m going to be blunt it’s
not easy if you’re new to this. You are going to have monkey mind. You
are most likely going get distracted by your own thoughts, you’ll start
drifting away from your focused observation and start thinking of
random things, like how good pizza sounds and what you’ll have to eat
for your next meal.
All this is ok, it is normal. You will improve your concentration over time
trust me. When you notice yourself getting distracted and drifting away
just snap out of it and go back to observing your mind and thoughts.
Remember the important thing is not to judge or resist the thoughts
that come to your mind, but just letting them flow freely. Be mindful of
your own mind.
Eventually meditating for 30 minutes will become easy for you, and
when that happens I recommend meditating for longer.
I highly recommend checking out the advanced personal development
section of my blog onlyfreedommatters.com to learn more about
meditation and more advanced techniques.
How can you be productive when you’re not asking yourself the deep
necessary questions that only you personally can find the answers to?
Maybe you can be productive but you will be productive with all the
wrong things and waste so many months and years of your life. Years
that you can never get back.
Have you ever looked within for the right answers? Have you ever even
deeply contemplated the most profound questions that you may have?
If you haven’t you are seriously in for a treat. You will learn a lot about
yourself, these insights will change the direction of your life for the
better.
You are going to self-reflect on these questions (I will give you list some
important questions shortly) for 15 minutes without distraction.
Get into the same position as you were for the self-observation
meditation and deeply contemplate the following questions:
1. What do I really want most out of life?
2. If I were lying on my death bed would I have any regrets and if so
what regrets would I have?
3. What’s the one thing that brings me the most joy in life?
4. What are my biggest strengths and weaknesses?
5. What makes me unique from everyone else?
6. What are some of my fears and what’s my biggest fear?
7. What’s my life purpose?
8. Am I taking action towards fulfilling my life purpose?
9. What actions can I take to actualize my life purpose?
The questions above or just some of the most profound questions that
only you yourself can answer, feel free to add to the list.
Anytime you find the answer to any of these questions I recommend
writing it down. Also, even when you find the answers you are looking

for, still contemplate the same questions because the answers to your
questions may change.
The more detailed and comprehensive your outline is the clearer your
objectives will be. When you clearly know what needs to be done
taking action will be much easier.
I want you to be a good strategic thinker. Good strategic thinkers get
shit done and they are always the most productive people. I have a
great in-depth article on my blog where I break down the top principles
to great strategic thinking, click here to check it out (highly
recommended).
Every day you should revisit your goals and strategy to update yourself
on the situation. This way your vision and focus stay sharp and also, you
can make the necessary changes in your strategy as you progress.
your work in a quiet place away from people who could possibly
distract you.
Taking action is what ultimately separates the achievers from the
dreamers, the doers from the snoozers, and the winners from the
losers.
Which one are you going to be? The choice is yours.
#10) SELF-REFLECTION
You just took hours of action on your top goals and priorities, it’s time
to take 15 minutes to self-reflect.
Contemplate on the action you took. Here is a 3-step reflection guide
you can follow.
1. Reflect on all experiences that stood out during the action taking.
What did I experience during those moments?
What happened inside me during those moments?
2. Reflect on your learning. Analyze your experience and compare to
the models or principles that you want to follow.
What does this experience say to me?
What can I learn?
3. Reflect on how you will apply your learning to your practice
tomorrow and the following days. Consider what options you
have for the next time you take action.
What options do I see for the next time I take action and
work on my goals?
What specifically do I intend to do based on my reflection?
