A. PROGRAM / COURSE PROFILE


TITLE
Rationale DepEd is mandated to fully support the continuing professional development of its
teaching personnel in line with the Republic Act No. 10533 or the Enhanced Basic
Education Act of 2013. To perform this role, district and school personnel should be
fully equipped with relevant core and technical competencies that will enable them to
cascade intensive training and support the continuing professional development of
personnel based on the principle of lifelong learning and DepEd’s commitment to the
development of teachers and their potential towards the success in the profession.
Critical competencies have been identified through the Teachers Need Analysis
(TNA) and the result of intensive school monitoring and evaluation.

This capacity building for teachers can be done through the School-based In-Service
Training for Teachers (INSET) which focuses on enhancing necessary skills to
teachers on identified common topics. This ultimately contributes on their primary
functions as prime movers of the professional learning community.

Nueva Era National High School will conduct a 5-day INSET through virtual and
face to face modality observing strictly the minimum safety protocols.

This program likewise supports the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan to
capacitate teachers with appropriate teaching and learning resources and processes to
address the needs of the learners in this pandemic. This INSET will equip participants
in the implementation of new modalities and with new ways of addressing the
challenges brought about by the pandemic.

Program/Course The In-Service Training for Teachers shall capacitate teachers on the knowledge and
Description skills in the management of behavior for both teachers and students and the utilization
of the innovative and trendy ways for the effective delivery of quality education
amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The INSET will be held at the NENHS TLE building through virtual and face-to-face
observing social distancing and other health safety protocols. The said INSET will
focus on the following proposed topics:

2. Assessment in the New Normal
3. Action Research Proposal
4. Test Construction in the New Normal
5. Innovation and Income Generating Project Proposal
6. Test Item Analysis
7. ICT Trends and Tools in the delivery of Education in the New Normal
8. LIS Updates and MOOE Matters
9. DRRM (Mental Health Awareness and Psychological First Aid)
