1. What are the importance of mathematics in life.
 Math helps us have better problem solving skills. Math helps us think analytically
and have better reasoning abilities. Analytical thinking refers to the ability to
think critically about the world around us. Reasoning is our ability to think
logically about a situation.
2. Nature of mathematics
 Mathematics is the science of patterns and relationships. As a theoretical
discipline, mathematics explores the possible relationships among abstractions
without concern for wether those abtractions have counterparts in the real
world.
3. What are the role of mathematics in some disciplines.
 Mathematics provides an effective way of building mental discipline and
encourages logical reasoning and mental rigor. In addition, mathematical
knowledge plays a crucial role in understanding the contents of other school
subjects such as science, social studies, and even music and art.

1. Physical Science
 Is a branch of natural science that studies non-living systems, in contrast to life
science. It in turn has many branches, each referred to as a physical science,
together called the physical sciences.
2. Mathematics in Chemistry
 Is the area of research engaged in novel applications of mathematics to
chemistry, it concerns itself principally with the mathematical modelling of
chemical phenomena.
3. Mathematics in Biological Science
 Is a branch of biology that uses mathematical models and analyses and
representations of living organisms to examine the systems that govern
structure, development, and behaviour of and within biological systems.
4. Mathematics in Engineering Technology
 Is a text on mathematics for courses in engineering, technology, and computing
science. It covers linear algebra, ordinary differential equations, and vector
analysis, together with line and multiple integrals.
5. Mathematics in Agriculture
 Farmers use mathematical skills and science in their day to day farm activities.
For example, farmers use mathematical skills to estimate the seed amount
needed, the cost to plant their crop based on the area of cultivable land they
possess, to purchase equipment or tools needed and make payments for various
purchases.
6. Mathematics in Economics
 Is the application of mathematical methods to represent theories and analyse
problems in economics.
7. Mathematics in Psychology
 Is that branch of psychology focusing on the use of mathematical and
computational models to explains and predict human behaviour. Typical areas of
interest are memory, attention, problem solving, perception, decision making,
and motor control.
8. Mathematics and Actuarial Science, Insurance and Finance
 Applies mathematical and statistical methods to finance and insurance,
particularly to the assessment of risk. Actuarial science includes a number of
interrelating disciplines, in particular the mathematics of probability and
statistics.
9. Mathematics and Archeology
 Although many archeologist have a good understanding of the basis in computer
science, statistics, geostatistics, modelling, and data mining, more literature is
needed about the advanced analysis in these areas.
10. Mathematics in Logic
 Are a Negation, Conjunction, and Disjunction. The symbolic form of
mathematical logic is, ‘ ~ ` for negation ‘ ^ ` for conjunction and ‘ v ` for
disjunction. In this article, we will discuss the basic mathematical logic with the
truth table examples.
11. Mathematics in Music
 Music theory analyses the pitch, timing, and structure of music. It uses
mathematics to study elements of music such as tempo, chord progression,
form, and meter.
12. Mathematics in Arts
 Mathematics and art are related in a variety of ways. Mathematics has itself
been described as an art motivated by beauty. Mathematics can be discerned in
arts such as music, dance, painting, architecture, sculpture, and textiles.
13. Mathematics in Philosophy
 Is the branch of philosophy that studies the assumptions, foundations, and
implications of mathematics. It aims to understand the nature and methods of
mathematics, and find out the place of mathematics in people’s lives.
14. Mathematics in Social Network
 Uses graph theory concepts to calculate metrics representing the nodes, the
links or the network. Such as the distance to other actors in the network, the
number of interactions with other actors, or how many times it bridged
interactions between communities.
15. Mathematics in Political Science
 Use math and statistics to predict the behaviour of a group of people. They must
keep track of the social, political, and monetary implications of a community’s
opinions and actions.
16. Mathematics in Linguistics
 Is a field of scientific linguistic inquiry applying mathematical methods and
concepts to linguistics systems, to phenomena observed in natural languages, or
to the metatheory of models of grammars.
17. Mathematics in Management
 Use mathematics in accounting, inventory management, marketing, sales
forecasting, and financial analysis. It helps you know the financial formulas,
fractions, measurements involved in interest calculation, hire rates, salary
calculation, tax calculation etc.
18. Mathematics in Computers
 Is the heart of the computer and an essential math field for computer
programming. For all mathematical concepts, the binary number system uses
only two digits, 0 and 1. It simplifies the coding process and is essential for low-
level instructions used in hardware programming.
19. Mathematics in Geography
 Geography uses mathematics to calculate the distance of the places, areas,
gradient of hills, and heights of places. Different places locations are also stated
in terms of degrees and by using the calculation the layout of areas can be
predicted.
