Good job! It seems that you already have an idea of the lesson in this module. With
that, let us now proceed with the information that you need to learn.

What is It

The 21st century learner needs to think beyond the boundaries of the classroom, as
developing their skills and competence, self-esteem and behavior simultaneously would
help them reach their potentials for success, and would equip them with the characteristics
they need to have in today’s world.

Having an environment that challenges the learners in question to analyze and evaluate
their plans, ideas, and conclusions, would lead them to higher-order thinking. This requires
suggestion, points to ponder on and motivational actions that can encourage the learners to
perform better on their goals and objectives.

Authentic assessment describes the evaluation of the content knowledge as well as the
compact skills like creativity, collaboration, problem-solving and innovation. Listed below are
the safety measure procedures in assessing finished work.

1. Save your work in the proper storage

In saving your work, make sure that it has its own folder which is
exclusive for that project, and all your outputs and ideas towards the
project itself are compiled therein. As a precautionary measure, name
the folder by its creator so that if a borrower would make some changes
with your work space, you are assured that your folder would not be
misplaced.
2. Always have a backup file

Always practice the habit of saving your work with a

backup file which can be done through your email account,
with flash drives, and even through your social media
accounts that permit you to send files to yourself. With these
backup files, you can work comfortably knowing that if
anything wrong happens to your files, you have something to
go back to. Make sure to update your backup files from time
to time to avoid confusion and for them to go along with your
progress.

3. Make your work compatible with any device

Saving your work in different formats could be a key

to compatibility with any devices. It also acts as a backup
in case the device you’re using for your project suddenly
acts up. In doing this, look out for changes in your output
if the version of the software program you are saving the
file to does not match your version of the program.

4. Save your output in different formats for unexpected

changes
As an editor, you need to think one step ahead, as
different possibilities can arise especially in assessing your
work. Saving your output in different formats would let you
look at different versions of your project. Moreover, the
assessor can evaluate your work if he/she doesn’t have the
type of format you have.

5. Examine the product as well as the entire project-

building process
Examining the product would be a vital step in the entire
process, as the creator would have the time to ponder about
his/her project. At the same time, the creator can also extract
innovative notes to make the project better.

6. Enumerate the performances in which students will be

evaluated.

In assessing the product of the learner, they should first

be aware of the points for scoring, the evaluation rubrics, and
the criteria for evaluation so they can adjust their project
according to the specified standards. In this way, the learners’
outputs would improve gradually.
7. Explain what constitutes excellence during the
project process.

In assessing the product of the learner, you also need

to elaborate on the overall assessment process for them
to innovate more and perform progressively. Showing
them samples of the standards you want to see from their
work would elevate their skills and set a bar for their
outputs. Just make sure to be truthful but encouraging in
the assessment process.

8. Help students understand what they need to do in

Adobe illustrator.

Explaining thoroughly the learners’ mission or the

activity’s goals in creating the project would play a vital
role in fully understanding and attaining its objectives.

9. Avoid subjectivity and bias.

The project also needs to have its components or elements be

objective and free from personal biases or any discriminating
graphics.

Feeling pumped? I do hope that you bear in mind the safety

measures in assessing finished work. To proceed, kindly answer
the series of activities that may help you process information that you have gained.
