Part1 : PICK PCB PACKAGES & MAKE A PCB TRACES

2.1 Proteus software is opened.

2.2 New Project is created by following this sequence.
New project named -> Create Schematic -> Create a PCB layout -> No FIrmware
Finish.
2.3 Two tabs appeared, Schematic and PCB. PCB is selected.
2.4 Package mode on toolbar is clicked. RES60 is chosen by choosing discrete
component and then resistor on sub categories.
2.5 The package is double clicked and it listed on packages area.
2.6 THe following packages is double clicked by :
> Package Mode > Discrete Components > Transistor > ELINE-80
> Package Mode > Connectors > Terminal BLock > TBLOCK-12
2.7 When everything is listed, OK button is clicked.
2.8 THe listed package is placed on workspace by single clicking it on the
workspace.
2.9 PCB trace is made by clicking the trace mode and T60 is selected.
2.10 THe width of the trace is determined by the number of trace. BIgger the larger
2.11 Trace is made by single clicking on PCB point and connected to another PCB
point. Mouse is right clicked when done.
2.12 Package and trace is deleted by double right clicking on the desired
component.
2.13 Step 2.11 is repeated until FIgure 2.8 is done.

Part2: MAKE A PCB TRACES & HOLES

3.1 Figure 3.1 is redrawn in workspace.
3.2 Icon O and D is clicked to put down holes. THen S is clicked to start making
trace
3.3 Bottom Copper is chosen at toolbar and traces and holes is made.

Part3: CONVERTING A SCHEMATIC CIRCUIT TO PCB

4.1 Circuit in Figue 4.1 is converted from schematic to PCB from scratch.

DIscussion
In the lab, we have been introduced on how to do tracing on PCB workspace. From
this we can see how to connect different component to another component using
tracing wire which ressembles wiring on PCB board. We also acknowledge that by
using holes and tracing wire, we can connect point to point using wire and the
point is appointed by the holes which also ressembles point on the component on
real life situation. We can connect these point using tracing manually just by
clicking our desired location and all is done when everything is connected as per
schematic diagram. We also learned how to convert a schematic diagram into a
PCB diagram. By using both workspace, we first insert and connect all components
on the schematic diagram and then we open the PCB workspace, we just insert and
connect all the points on the components as on the schematic diagram. As we already
done in part 1 and 2, we can convert this schematic diagram into PCB without any
difficulties as long as we know the basic of the connection and everything is
connected.

----------------------------------------------------------
1.1 To familiarize with PCB drawing software.
1.2 To be able to use the software independently after guided.
----------------------------------------------------------
At the end of the experiment, the student has been able to get familiarize with PCB
drawing software.
Proteus is used to come out with a PCB drawing out of a pre-designed schemkatic
layout. Student also
being able to use the software independently after guided. In the making of PCB
board, student can
choose from a number of option of the size of copper trace to be used and component
that is suitable
according to schematic diagram that also comes with a PCB component.
