School Infection Control Plan and Containment Strategy


In accordance with DepEd Order No. 034 s. 2022

Prevention

1. Wearing of face masks shall be mandatory in the re-opening of classes. In the


event where face mask will be removed, the face mask should be kept in a clean
individual storage. A face shield may be used in lieu of a face mask for activities
requiring the entire face of an individual to be visible but needs to put back mask
immediately once activities are done.
2. Temperature check shall be done upon entering the school premises.
3. Proper handwashing must be observed and done every after use of Comfort
Rooms, before and after taking meals.
4. Use of 70% alcohol especially when handwashing is not possible at the moment.
5. Physical distancing shall be observed. Classrooms may up to a maximum capacity
of 40 learners at a time.
6. Classroom doors and windows shall be opened for ventilation.
7. Classroom disinfection shall be done every after class.
8. Learners and teaching personnel are strictly prohibited from eating together while
facing one another. If there is a lack of a space in the classroom or school
premises to allow distancing during meals, eating shall be done in a manner
where all individuals face in one direction and do not talk while their masks are
off, and immediately put back mask after eating.
9. COVID-19 testing, vaccination, and contact tracing shall not be required to enter
the school premises. But all school personnel who remain unvaccinated shall be
required to undergo RT-PCR test once every 2 weeks, or weekly antigen tests for
purpose of on-site work as stated in Paragraph A of IATF Resolution No., 148-B s.
2021 dated 11 November 2021.
10.To prevent learners with symptoms similar to COVID-19 from going to school,
parents are highly encouraged to monitor and report the health status of their
children to the school, through the class adviser, and appropriate authorities.
Parents will be provided list symptoms that their children manifest that help them
decide.
11.Manage flow of egress and ingress of learners to and from comfort rooms and
during transition period or change shift.
12.All learners must go home immediately after class dismissal to lessen the crowd
exposure.
13.Parents entrance to school is limited to kinder parent and last only for one week
to lessen separation anxiety of kindergarten learners.
14.Limit admission of guests/visitors inside the school. Transaction may be done
online. For transaction needing face-to-face interaction, parents must undergo
triage and fill-out contact tracing form.

1. An individual who experiences COVID-19 or any flu-like symptoms such as fever,


cough, and colds shall not be allowed to enter the school premises. They will only
be allowed to return to school upon presenting clearance from their respective
BHERT unit.
2. Learners experiencing COVID-19 or any flu-like symptoms while inside the
classroom shall be immediately excused from in-person classes and shall shift to
distance learning using printed modules. This shall only be required of those who
feel well enough to answer modules but are in the home or facility isolation. This
provision excludes learners who are admitted to hospitals.
3. Parents/guardians and BHERT must be notified immediately of a
confirmed/suspected case of COVID-19 or any flu-like symptoms must be
transferred to an isolation area until the parent/guardian can bring them home
and shall be instructed to observe home quarantine, and BHERT has been
properly notified. Learning shall continue using printed modules.
4. Learners who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 shall be immediately excused from
in-person classes and shall shift to distance learning using printed modules. This
shall only be required of those who feel well enough to answer modules but are in
the home or facility isolation. This provision excludes learners who are admitted
to hospitals.
5. In case an individual is exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 case, home quarantine
must be observed. In case of learners, learning shall continue through the use of
printed modules.
6. Designation of School Safety Officer who shall serve as the focal person for health
and safety protocols of the school shall be done.
