1. PLANNING INFORMATION

1.A.1. Helicopters/installed equipment or parts

Helicopters equipped with electrical hoist GOODRICH P/N 42325-16-5 or 42325-16-6.

NOTE

Refer to the aircraft Log Book and/or the Equipment Log


Cards (FM) to identify the actual modification status of the
helicopter.

Electrical hoists GOODRICH P/N 42325-16-5 or 42325-16-6.

1.B. ASSOCIATED REQUIREMENTS

Not applicable.

1.C. REASON

Airbus Helicopters has been informed through an SIL (Service Information Letter) from GOODRICH Sensors
and Integrated Systems of an incorrectly assembled retaining ring system at the carrier assembly. The
carrier assembly holes were not aligned, and the carrier retainer was not safely engaged. Incorrect
installation could let the hook loosen and cause loss of load.

Therefore, Airbus Helicopters makes mandatory the check of the retaining ring system at the carrier
assembly, through GOODRICH SIL No. SIL-2018-03.

1.D. DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this ALERT SERVICE BULLETIN is to check the retaining ring system at the carrier
assembly and, if necessary, to recondition the system by repositioning the hook and the retaining ring,
through GOODRICH SIL No. SIL-2018-03.

Airbus Helicopters makes mandatory the embodiment of the instructions in paragraph 3. of this ALERT
SERVICE BULLETIN before delivery of the helicopter.

Non-installed equipment or parts:

Airbus Helicopters makes mandatory the embodiment of the instructions in paragraphs 3.B.2. and 3.C. of this
ALERT SERVICE BULLETIN before delivery of the equipment or before installation on the helicopter.

1.E.2. Compliance in service

Helicopters/installed equipment or parts:

Comply with paragraph 3. before the next hoisting operation as from receipt of this ALERT SERVICE
BULLETIN published on the date mentioned in the page footer or upon installation of the hoist on the
helicopter.

Non-installed equipment or parts:

Comply with paragraph 3.B.2. and 3.C. of this ALERT SERVICE BULLETIN before installation of the hoist on
the helicopter.

August 07, 2018 under the prerogatives of the recognition of design capability FRA21J-002-DGA for
French Government helicopters.

personnel qualification:

3.B.1. Preliminary steps

- Install appropriate access equipment.

3.B.2. Procedure

- Inspect the carrier assembly in accordance with SIL-2018-03 (see Appendix 4).
- If the installation is not correct, before next hoist operations, replace the carrier assembly in accordance
with SIL-2018-03.

3.B.3. Final steps

- Clean and recondition the work zones and helicopter as per Work Card 20.07.03.408 (MTC).
- Clear the access equipment.
- Set helicopter into flight condition.

3.C. COMPLIANCE CONFIRMATION

Compliance with this document:

Record the first full embodiment of this ALERT SERVICE BULLETIN No. 25.01.78 with the revision number
in the aircraft documents.

Record the first full embodiment of this ALERT SERVICE BULLETIN No. 25.01.78 with the revision number
in the Log Card (FM).
