II. INTRODUCTORY CONCEPT

Great day kids! Do you find difficulty in giving


meaning of unfamiliar words? Worry less, because in
this lesson you will learn their meaning using your body
movements as context clues.

Total Physical Response (TPR) is a way of learning


vocabulary concepts by using body movement,
acting it out, facial expressions to illustrate the
meaning of the word.

This would be exciting and fun.

III. ACTIVITIES

A. Practice Task I
Directions. Listen as the poem is read to you. Based on
what you understand, think of appropriate movements
for each line then do the action.

Animals

Fly like a bee.
Four five six
Run like an ostrich
Six and seven
Sit like a hen
Eight, nine, ten
Meow like kitten.

Check your understanding of the following words. Put a

Directions: Listen to the story. The reader will read

At the Zoo

Alma walks to the zoo. She’s happy to see the


animals. The monkey swings on the tree. The snake
crawls in the grass. The parrot says, “hello”. The
rabbit eats the carrot. The birds chirp. The turtle
swims in the pond. And one animal got her
attention, the lion roars loudly. It was a great day for
Alma. She will visit again the zoo.
