1000 Puzzles [Prelims + Mains]


Class 1
9 boxes are placed in a 3x3 matrix formation. Box J is to the south of box S but to
the northeast of box U. Box E is south east of box O but not south west of box S.
Box D is north of box B but east of box K. Box B is placed in one of the rows above
E. Box I is not west of Box E.
8 persons A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are standing around the circle, facing away from the
centre. A square is drawn around the circle and 4 persons R, S, T and U are standing in
the corner of the square, facing towards the centre. 4 persons standing along the
square are facing the nearest person standing along the circle. A is standing to the
immediate left of D, who is facing T. 2 persons are standing between D and F. F is
standing 2nd to the left of G. Neither B nor H is standing adjacent to G. H is facing U. S
is facing C, who is not standing adjacent to A
Six persons A, B, C, D, E and F were seated in a straight row facing the North. They
were married to different persons P, Q, R, S, T and U not necessarily in the same
order.
E was seated 3rd to the right of S’s spouse. S’s spouse was neighbouring F. Three
persons were seated between F and T’s spouse. A was married to R and was seated to
the immediate right of P’s spouse. C was 3rd to the right of B. U’s spouse was not at
the extremes. B was neighbouring Q’s spouse
Eight employees A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H had their review meetings due in the months of
January, March, April and May. The meetings took place either on 5th or 15th of these
months. They took different number of leaves. A person who took odd number of
leaves had a meeting in a month with odd number of days and the person who took
even number of leaves had a review in a month with even number of days.
The person whose review was on March 15th took 25 leaves. B’s review took place at a
gap of 2 from the one who took 25 leaves but not in May. H took 26 leaves and his
review was at a gap of 1 from G’s review. Number of leaves taken by G was a prime
numbered value. The one who took 17 leaves had a review just before E’s review. A and
C had review in the same month. The one who took 32 leaves had review 3 turns after
the one who took 45 leaves. F had review just after the one who took 27 leaves. F took
2 leaves more than that taken by G. One who took a leave of 31 days had a review in
May. A and F had review at a gap of 1. B and G did not have review in same month
The person whose review was on March January 5
15th took 25 leaves. B’s review took
place at a gap of 2 from the one who January 15
took 25 leaves but not in May. H took March 5
26 leaves and his review was at a gap of
1 from G’s review. Number of leaves March 15
taken by G was a prime numbered
value. The one who took 17 leaves had April 5
a review just before E’s review. A and C April 15
had review in the same month. The one
who took 32 leaves had review 3 turns May 5
after the one who took 45 leaves. F had May 15
review just after the one who took 27
leaves. F took 2 leaves more than that
taken by G. One who took a leave of 31
days had a review in May. A and F had
review at a gap of 1. B and G did not
have review in same month
Eight boxes were stacked one over another. The boxes were of different colour
golden, pink, grey, yellow, black, blue, green and red not necessarily in the
same order. Each box was labelled with a different alphabet A, B, C, D, E, G and
H not necessarily in the same order.
There were 3 boxes between the pink and the red box. Pink box was kept
above red box. The box kept just above the pink box was labelled with
alphabet B. The box just below the red box was labelled with alphabet C. The
yellow and black boxes had consecutive alphabets. Yellow box was kept just
above the box that had alphabet E. There were 4 boxes between the box with
alphabet E and the blue box. The box labelled with alphabet E was above the
blue box. The grey box was labelled with alphabet F. Grey and red boxes were
kept one above another. Black box was just above the golden box. Green box
was labelled with G. There was one box between the green box and the box
with alphabet D. Golden box was not labelled with a vowel.
There were 3 boxes between the pink
and the red box. Pink box was kept 8
above red box. The box kept just above 7
the pink box was labelled with
alphabet B. The box just below the red 6
box was labelled with alphabet C. The
yellow and black boxes had 5
consecutive alphabets. Yellow box was 4
kept just above the box that had
alphabet E. There were 4 boxes 3
between the box with alphabet E and 2
the blue box. The box labelled with
alphabet E was above the blue box. 1
The grey box was labelled with
alphabet F. Grey and red boxes were
kept one above another. Black box was
just above the golden box. Green box
was labelled with G. There was one box
between the green box and the box
with alphabet D. Golden box was not
labelled with a vowel.
Eight persons A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H were seated around a circular table facing
the centre. Four of them liked fruits viz banana, kiwi, apple and orange and the
rest of them liked vegetables viz. potato, peas, cabbage and tomato not
necessarily in the same order. Persons whose names were in the consecutive
alphabetical order were not neighbouring each other thus, B was neither
neighbouring A nor C and vice versa.
F was seated 3rd to the right of the one who liked peas. E liked orange and was
2nd to the left of C. B was seated opposite to H who liked tomato. D was seated
2nd to the right of the one who liked cabbage. The one who liked banana was
neighbouring C. C was not neighbouring the one who liked peas. The one who
liked kiwi was seated 2nd to the left of the one who liked apple
