PLANNING THE NAIROBI COMMUTER RAIL SERVICE

https://namata.go.ke/

PRESENTATION BY MUCEMI GAKURU

AG HEAD, COMMUTER RAIL UNIT

FEBRUARY 2022
VISION FOR NAIROBI COMMUTER RAIL

What type of service should Nairobi Commuter Rail Offer?

The actual system needed should have the level of operating

capacity which is normally considered as metro rail or heavy
rail, rather than suburban or commuter rail. Such as system
would need frequent 2-way movement rather than just 1-way
movement to service suburban to central travel.
