This practical is about the chemical registration of chemicals that are available

in The King University, Melaka which is listed in the List of Chemical Hazardous to
Health that provided by DOSH of Malaysia. This practical was conducted at The King
University, Melaka laboratory. Laboratory Number 3114 which is under supervision
of Ahmad Fauzi and Silva Raj was chosen to complete this task. 12 chemicals were
chosen from this laboratory with permission of person in charge for this practical.

Make use of and also criterion of visibility of chemicals unsafe to health and wellness
or even basically type understood as USCHH is actually a rule for the prep work of a
chemical sign up. The purposes of the standard are actually to deliver endorsements
of the dangerous chemical that invite work environment and also offer. If just about
anything take place, relevant information concerning wellness danger as well as
measure. Next off, this tip likewise aids companies to manage the chemical that are
actually dangerous to regarding and also individual. Afterwards, this suggestion
additionally finishes along with relevant information that brought about take the
chance of analysis. Regarding to this guideline, to complete this chemical register,
the list of all chemicals hazardous to health that are already stated by Department of
Occupational Safety and Health Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia 2000 is
needed as reference to choose the chemical that can contribute to health risk (Use
and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health, USCHH) Regulation
2000.

This tip likewise assists staff member to supply the existing chemical sign up slab of
each of the chemicals dangerous to health and wellness that offered in their
office. That, the chemical sign up are going to upgraded in opportunity to opportunity
located on presence of brand new chemical in office. Chemical sign up likewise
require to possess all the relevant information coming from the improved Present
Chemical Safety and security Information or even referred to as CSDS. Chemical
sign up additionally requires to feature the normal month-to-month or even annual
volume of each chemicals dangerous to wellness are actually made of refined in the
system development. Normal month to month for chemicals dangerous to wellness
are actually taken care of, stashed, transportation fingertip or even procedure at the
workspace. The info of provider that supplied the chemical including deal with, label,
and also connect with amount of the international or even local area wallpaper
likewise required to become file such as chemical sign up for any type of better make
use of in future.

There are three section that need to accomplish in order to achieve all the objectives
of this chemical registration guideline. The section that contains in this guideline are
Section A, Section B and Section C. Section A is about the company information.
This section used to fulfil all the information of the company that used and have the
chemicals which are hazardous to health in their workplace. After that, for Section B
consists of list of chemical hazardous to health for every process or location. About
12 chemicals were chosen in this practical to be fulfil in Section B. The last section
which is the Section C consists of the name of person who prepared or previewed
the Chemical Register. This section gives details on the preparing or previewed the
Chemical Register. In this guideline, there are some of words for physical form of
chemical, types of control measures, PPE and usage of chemical that used
abbreviation. The lists of abbreviation that used in this practical allocated appendix.

This practical is primarily on preparing a chemical register. The goals of this study were to
include a reference to the staff members of Lab No 2261 at The King University regarding
the presence of harmful chemicals at their workplace, as well as information about the
harmful effects and preventative measure actions which been needed, as well as a pointer to
the organisation to conduct training for staff on how to handle chemicals that were
dangerous to health, as well as provide assistance to the assistor in obtaining risk
information.

The form used in this activity is based on the guidelines for preparing a chemical register,
which were published under the Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standards of
Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health, USCHH) Regulation 2000. Section A, section
B, and section C are the three sections of the form. The King University's information is in
Section A. Section B contains a list of chemicals that are harmful to one's health, whereas
section C has the names of the person who compiled the chemical register and the person
who approved it.

Out of 96 chemicals in Lab No 2261, 12 chemicals were picked from the results in the form
of chemical register preparation. 2-Propanol, Citric acid anyhydrate, Tri sodium citrate,
Potassium permanganate, Calcium Chloride, Sodium sulphide, Potassium hydrogen
phthalate, Potassium sodium tartrate, Magnesium Sulphate, Benzoic acid, Potassium Iodide,
Natrium Acetate are among the 12 compounds. All of the chemicals listed are in either a
liquid or solid state. Two workers in Lab No. 2261 have been exposed to a hazardous
substance.

Protective clothes, eye protection, dust masks, and other PPE, such as safety shoes and
gloves, are generally utilized when handling these 12 chemicals. The use of approved
personal protective equipment was highlighted in USCHH regulation 16 in 2000, which
stated that approved PPE provided to employees must be suitable to the type of worker, fit
to the worker, not adversely affect the worker's health and medical, and be sufficient and
always available to the worker when needed. Next, based on the information received from
the technician, the type of usage of each chemical that has been used in the Lab No 2261 is
raw material, and the quantity of each chemical that has been used every month in the Lab
No 2261 has been expressed in kilogram.

Aside from that, as indicated in the information, each chemical has its own chemical abstract
services (CAS) number. The CAS number, which can be up to ten digits long, is important to
the chemistry, structure, and chemical composition of the molecule (Marie Helmenstine,
2018). Then, among the 12 compounds that are harmful to human health, some have active
ingredients or known and dangerous components. For example, active ingredients in
medications are the components responsible for the medicinal effect, but in the case of
chemicals, it is the component responsible for a specific reaction (Bihari, 2018).

A chemical registry is essential in the workplace to aid in the identification of hazardous

compounds. As a result, safety measures such as delivering employee training to
understand the current hazards and the necessary precautions can be implemented. Aside
from that, workers must be able to read SDSs and marks, have the capacity and expertise to
utilise the chemical register, and be aware of any workplace safety precautions, such as
emergency and first-aid protocols. Engineering control (enclosure, insulation, ventilation) and
personal protective equipment (PPE) are examples of control measures that should be
adopted based on the monitoring hierarchy (protective clothing, eye protection, dust mask).
The chemical threat could be mitigated using these procedures.

This practical is more focused on how all the chemical in industry was registered.
Chemical register process is very important because it is to ensure that all the
information about the chemical that can give harmful effects to the people at their
workplace to be more careful in future. In addition, it can also give some prevention
to people if there are any accidents that occur due to the chemical in their workplace.
The form that were provided by the Occupational Safety and Health (Use and
Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health, USCHH) Regulation
2000, are very useful to the industry because all the important details about the
chemical are available in the form for reference in case of any accident. All of these
fact are very important to industry and workers for prevent any accident in the future
regarding on the chemical. Next for the recommendations for further actions based
on this practical is the worker need to be more careful on how to read the SDSs of
the chemical in industry and alert on the control measures that should be apply when
happen any chemical accident.
