Insight paper about

"Why the arts should matter" by Dr. Jose Dalisay, Jr.

First things first, what is art? It is not just paintings and images. It has a deeper meaning

in it. Through art, people's perspectives on the world can be altered, helping them to

comprehend events in their daily lives more fully. We value it because it makes our lives

better and contributes to our understanding of the world. Art might be difficult to

comprehend. It can be characterized depending on how each person sees it. Through

acting, dancing, painting, and other forms of artistic expression, one can express

themselves virtually through art. Finding outstanding works of art makes it possible to

appreciate the use of creativity and creative faculties.

According to his article, arts and humanities are important because Humanities

ennoble and enrich us, and it is worthwhile to pursue them even if there is no practical

application in society. However, the humanities serve a societal function. They meet

critical demands for critical and creative thinking about the issues we face as citizens

and as individuals. Humanities are critical. We cannot effectively or rationally govern

ourselves without them. Art is a useful method for finding out about the history and

setting of the work. The majority of the time, artists' work addresses both personal and

societal themes. By assessing and putting ourselves in the artist's shoes, we can more

fully comprehend how society functioned at the time. We can identify with and

understand their challenges on a personal level. In the past, we encountered art

frequently. All five senses must be used to complete the task: touch, sight, smell, sound,
and taste. Here are a few instances of the universal worth that art provides for all

people. Children find entertainment and enjoyment in art. They usually employ lines,

colors, imagination, movement, and patterns they may make in several dimensions to

convey their creativity. Even adults appreciate the worth of art. Everybody encounters

stress related to their jobs and worries about particular issues.

Overall, the purpose of art should be noticed. It deserves to be respected, admired and

inspired because it has the potential to teach us things beyond our wildest dreams. It

should be viewed for what it is because it expresses who we are and what we can

become from the viewer's perspective. Art can stimulate the brain. As a result, it is

widely acknowledged to have sparked a revolution in several societies. It can spark

ideas because it allows viewers to draw from their own emotions and experiences as

they are exposed to them. Art can impact in some ways because it naturally fosters

critical and creative thinking abilities.
