6.1. What does process planning entail? How would process planning differ for batch
and continuous processes?
Process selection and process condition determination are topics covered by process
planning. To transform raw materials into a desired shape, specific activities and
circumstances must be carried out. The process plan contains all the requirements and
terms of the operations. While continuous processes operate practically continuously
but might move more slowly than a batch process, batch processes are production
lines that generate a large push at once. On the other hand, process planning is the
process of containment of all requirements necessary for the operation.
6.3. Our thinking process, limited by the paradigms under which we operate, can
