    1) The experiment aims to study the forward and reverse bias characteristics of a p-n junction diode. A diode, voltmeter, ammeter and battery are used. 2) In forward bias, the current increases slowly at first and then suddenly increases at around 0.7V. In reverse bias, the current remains almost constant up to the breakdown voltage and then suddenly increases. 3) Observations of forward and reverse bias characteristics are recorded. Calculations of forward bias resistance and reverse bias resistance are done from the graph.
