V60.0.26.01 In the dialog window for the service intervals (service log-in required), the default
settings for the service intervals will be indicated dependent on the set ink type.

4 More options for the assignment of digital inputs and outputs
As of now it is possible to assign an event or function to more than one digital input or
output. For instance, the event “error” can be assigned to the digital outputs X3.1, X3.3,
X3.9 and X3.11.
In addition, it is possible to assign several digital inputs to one function. E.g. the function
“Nozzle open” can be assigned to the digital inputs X4.9, X4.11 and X4.23.
5 Pre-installed print jobs can be deleted

As of now it is possible to delete the pre-installed print jobs of the JET3 printer. There
are three print jobs pre-installed on the JET3 printer:
• Testprint.job
• DEFAULT JOB JET3.job
• ENCODER CALIBRATION JET3.job
It is only possible to delete them. It is not possible to overwrite them.
After the “Testprint.job“ was deleted there will pop up an error message (#6200) if one
tries to open that job via the menu entry [Extra-Test Print].
In order to restore these print jobs a factory reset has to be performed.
With a factory reset [Settings-Basic-Settings- Factory Settings-Reset] these print jobs
will be copied to the job folder again.

The message classifications of the message numbers
12113 [The ink has been refilled without a successful TAG activation…]

V60.0.25.00 12114 [The solvent has been refilled without a successful TAG activation…]
are changed from a blue frame (Information) to an orange frame (Warning). Due to this
changing, the output to drive e.g. a warning lamp will also be activated.
3 New sensor monitoring implemented

With this function the print-out control of the PrintGo sensor is complemented with a
second sensor. The first sensor delivers the PrintGo signal and the second sensor is
used for checking this. The two signals haven’t to be present exactly at the same time,
but they have to overlap at any rate. The settings for the monitoring through a second
sensor are entered in the dialog box of the print parameters.
The second sensor is connected to the printGoGate input of the JET3 printer. The
PrintGoGate function is not available if the second sensor is used for the PrintGo
monitoring.
With this fuction activated each of the following cases will cause an an error message:
1. Either the PrintGo sensor signal, the signal of the additional sensor or both are
missing or have the wrong timing.
2. There are no encoder signals during the PrintGo signal and the signal of the
additional sensor are active.
3. The printer is not ready for printing (PrintStop button activated) while PrintGo
signals, signals from the additional sensor and encoder signals are received.
4 Improved TAG Handling

The new software version offers an improved TAG handling by better user guidance
through revised dialog boxes.
Besides a symbol is visible to show you if the TAG has a good radio connection to the
TAG-reader, or if there is no communication contact.

5 New function: <Extern Text: variable length>

There is a new type of <Extern Tex> object available. The <Extern Text: variable
length> offers the possibility of defining a start and a stop symbol in order to mask a
received character string.
Only characters between the start symbol and the stop symbol will be considered.
The new type of object can be selected from the type drop-down menu on the<Extern
Text> tab.
6 Improved dialog box for file handling

The dialog box for loading and saving files is displayed at a larger size.
The preview area shows now a larger segment of the selected print job
7 Changed procedure after charge voltage overload

For safety reasons after a charge voltage overload the nozzle is closed automatically.
After removing the cause of the error and confirming the error message the nozzle can
be opened again.

9 Colours of different print objects corrected

In some cases the colours for specific defined print object haven’t fit to the defined
function. This is corrected now.

“PG-distance error”: sometimes it occurred, that the “PG-distance” error appeared after
loading a new job

“counter reset”: it happens, that the CounterReset was valid one counter value too late

1 Global counter
A counter object can be defined as a global counter. For this a checkbox in the counter
settings has to be ticked off. You can have more than one counter object in a print job
but only one of them can be a global counter.
A global counter works for all print jobs. If a global counter is defined in one print job it
can be used in all other print jobs. The counter reading is stored in a special memory
area and will remain when another print job is loaded.
If a global counter is edited it will show the current reading. The current counter reading
V60.0.24.00 can be changed or deleted during editing. The changes will affect the current print job as
well as all other print jobs using the global counter.
2 Service messages
New intervals for the service messages were implemented. Now the service reminders
have the following schedule after the regular date is overdue:
• During the first week: once a day
• During the second week: twice a day
• During the third week: four times a day
• Starting with the fourth week: at each hour
3 New function: Print jobs with prompt fields can also be loaded with a bar code
scanner (Shoot&Print)
Print jobs with prompt field(s) can now be loaded with a bar code scanner. During the
loading process a dialog box for the prompt field(s) settings will be displayed.
4 Self-test function
The self-test function was provided with an improved data basis.
5 Interval operation
There were new functions implemented which offer enhanced capabilities for the control
of the interval operation. Now it is possible to define three interval times per day. Interval
times can be deactivated by setting the start and the stop time to the same value
6 Special print job for encoder calibration added

There is a new test print job available. This print job is especially designed for encoder
calibration. This print job is implemented in the operating system and it cannot be
deleted or overwritten. There is detailed service documentation available for this
function.
7 Deleting the input buffer of the <Extern Text> function

The input buffer (memory) for the <Extern Text> function can now be deleted in order to
get a defined starting condition.
8 Speed improvements for the job editor

The response time of the job editor was considerably enhanced.
9 Arabic font revised
The Arabic font had a few characters added to it.
10 New file filter for the file explorer

A new file filter for job lists is added to the file explorer.
11 Improved TAG handling

The content of the message boxes regarding the TAG handling were revised. The
messages are now clearer and unambiguous.

The display response of the dialog boxes for the hydraulic settings, the job settings and
the object settings was improved.

1 Bug-fix about “Calculate drop-amount of print out”:
In version V60.0.01.22 the calculation for the amount of drops for a specific print out
didn’t work reliable. This is corrected with the version V60.0.23.00
2 Function “PG-Gate” improved:

If “internal PrintGo” is used in combination with the “PrintGo-Gate” function, the change
from high level to low level of the Gate-signal will not stop the printer but just interrupt
the active printing. If the Gate-signal switched to high level signal, the print will be
automatically continued with the next PrintGo.

Since the implementation of the “prompt field function” in some cases the response

In former versions, the “online” editing of a print job during a running production, could
cause a deviation of the “PG distance” after overtaking the new print job changings.
Since this version, the changed job parameters will not affect the PG distance anymore,
as long as this parameter has not been changed by the operator.

The extended invert function for the barcode (as described in version V60.0.01.14) has

6 Second “Product Counter” implemented:
A second product counter is implemented which can be activated if needed. The second
product counter works as a kind “trip counter” (if compared to the mileage indicator at the
cars)
This second product counter can be reset separately and independent of the main
product counter and has no further logical connection to the main counter.
One typical application could be for example to use the second counter as a “shift
counter” (which can be reset after each shift manually) and the first counter is used as a
“main counter” for the total production of the day.

7 “Extern Text” function improved:
The initial definition of an “external text” object has been changed with this new software
version. Now it is not necessary to set some wildcards as a first text definition, and the
first real text can be entered directly. This first data entry is a valid “extern text” already
which will be printed with the first PrintGo, as long as this data is not overwritten by a new
data.
Important is to know, that the first entry of the data defines already in the same way the
maximum amount of digits for all the further external text messages. At the following
example the defined length for all “external text” information would be therefore 7 digits.

8 “Service Self Test” function implemented:
Now a powerful tool is implemented, to carry out a “full automatic” self-test procedure for
a lot of specific and fundamental functions. This shall be a helpful tool and a standard
routine for all dealers to carry out an objective test-run of all the important functions of
the printer and can be also used as a powerful tool for maintenance tasks to check
specific items.
Currently this function will be not the last version and will be improved / extended with the
next versions. Especially the parameters / values for the test routines has to be defined in
deeper details from our side, as soon as we have further experience and also feedback
from the dealers side.
Therefore this tool is a “preliminary version” which is just for your information and you’re
your first tests.

New barcode “PPN-ECC200” implemented
This code came up due to new guidelines on the pharmaceutical market in Germany and
Europe.
The image/lookout of this code is almost the same like the regular DataMatrix-code, but
contains special “control symbols” to be detected by the scanner as a PPN-code. It is
possible to print this PPN code in a square or rectangular shape.
According to the rules of the code algorithm it is a need to enter also so called “field
separators”. This can be done with the button “Field Sep (GS)”

Flexibility of barcode “invert” function extended
Due to an additional possibility to select between “inverted” and “not inverted” at all
barcodes, a much higher flexibility is reached and the barcode with clear font can be
adjusted in 4 different styles like shown as the following:

New function “periodic repetition” implemented

With a new function, each “object” inside the print band can be defined as an object which
3 will be printed just with an “periodic repetition” (if the button “print, when counter = end
value” is activated)
To define this “periodic repetition”, it is necessary to define also a counter to enter the
repetition value for this object (the counter itself will be not printed).
The ID-number of this counter must be allocated to the “periodic printed” object. This can be
done with the button as shown below:

Output signal “speed dependent output” corrected

4 Now the “speed dependent output” will also switch ON or OFF if the printer is adjusted to
the unit “inch” instead of “mm” (at former version it worked just with the “mm” setting)

2 New barcode “USPS 4CB” implemented:

This special barcode is an intelligent mailing barcode for the us-american postal
services.
This function is probably just used at the USA.

on former versions it happened, that the “Print Delay” didn’t work properly for each
print out at very specific cases => this is corrected with the version V60.0.01.13
4 “Interval time”:
The “interval time” is increased to 1 hour as a general default value (instead of 20
minutes like former versions). Especially for pigmented printers it is an advantage to
ensure that the pigments are well agitated all the time.
5 New function “F2897” implemented:
This function is a special date-coding for the us-american pipe manufacturers. It is a
specific US-guideline to convert the 5 digit date code containing the “julian date” and
the last two digits of the year to a just 3 digits long calculated alphanumerical
number.
This function is probably just used at the USA, or from customers which are
producing pipes for the US market.

1 interrupted counter values
under some circumstances it happened that a counter didn’t continue with the next
logical value or was printed on a wrong position if the job has been edited during the
V60.0.01.11 production.
This is corrected now. Importand is, that the function “save counters” is activated
under the menue “extras”.
2 external input for “counter increment” is debounced

the input signals for the selection of the “external job select” where debounced
already on the former software versions.
The input signal for the “increment counter” was not debounced so far. Due to the
usage of simple switches on the field, the external increment of the counter works
not reliable at any time. Therefore this input is also debounced now (together wit the
inputs for the “external job select”)
To activate the “debounce function” => un-tick/unmark the filed (the filed is empty)
To switch off the “debounce function” => tick / mark the field (like seen on the
example screen shot)
The debounce time is “10msec”
3 suction pump performance:

for a higher reliability and better performance during the sart up process during
opening the nozzle, the suction pump power is increased to 100% performance for a
time of the first 20 seconds. After this initial 20 seconds the pump performance will
be reduced automatically to the default value.
1 interface protocol extended
a new command is implemented at the interface protocol (^0?AC) to ask the printer
for the current values of all counters at the current loaded print job.

2 new output signal implemented:
a new kind of output signal is implemented to the output definition list.
The so-called output “speed dependent output” will switch the output signal in
dependence of the current print speed of the printer.
This function can be used for e.g. cable, extrusion and tube manufacturers which are
using a corona pre-treatment.
With this specific output the corona can be controlled and will be switched on and off
automatically depending of the adjusted speed. Therefore the customer can avoid,
that the corona would destroy the material at very low production speeds, because it
will be switched off by the “speed dependent output” of the printer.
2 To set the switching level value of this output a new entry field is implemented at the
menue “job settings / encoder parameter” (please see the following screeshot).
For example:
if the value is set to 200m/min, the output will switch to “high level” as soon as the
production speed reaches 200m/min. The output will switch back to the “low level” as
soon as the production speed will be smaller as 180m/min (the hysteresis is set
10% smaller as the defined switching value and cannot be choosen by the

the time and date objects can be printed in a scrambled way, e.g. to create a
customized spezial coding style.
This special function is only available, if the printer gets the data by programming via
the interface protocol (it is not possible to enter this kind of coding via the screen
menues of the printer).
For example:
You want to print a time code as a scrambled information; e.g instead of a standard
readable time object “hh:mm:ss” you want to print a special coded time information
like e.g. “hmshms”
The time object which is defined on the menu at the printer looks like “hh:mm:ss” as
a standard. To scramble this time object as mentioned on the example above, the
printer needs to get the data via the interface protocoll in the following order:
“hmshms” instead of the regular way like “hh:mm:ss”.
Please be aware that the printer cannot show the scrambled time code on the
display as WYSIWYG; it is just be printed like programmed via the interface, but
shown on the printer display as the standard format.

This „Phasing“-information shows the result of the phasing process and gives you a
feedback, how stable the phasing is.
• the “answer signals” of the phasing process are shown as numbers (a “-“
symbol shows “no phasing answer”
• the number complies to the last digit of the phasing step (20 steps are
existing)
• the symbol “x” or “_” means => this is the specific point where the phasing is
point is adjusted
The amount of phasing errors since the last automatic adjustment of the oszillator
voltage is shown on the result „Error“.

with the hlep of this command, single parameters can be changed explicitly.
“echo-mode (^0!EM)”:
this command switches on the so-called „echo-mode“ on the interface protocol. This
means that the printer sends immediately the command as an answer back to the
host (at each “action” or “parameter”-command. this means at command with “!”
and/or “=”).
The ativated “echo-mode” will be activ till the printer is deactivated (switched off) or a
“factory setting” is carried out.
For further details please see the documentation of the “interface protocol“
4 new button „check double prints“ for “ExternText-funktion” implemented:
This function avoids, that the print will automatically printed once more, if no new
input will be send to the printer. If the function is not activated, the printer will print
always the last content of the “ExterText”-element, as long as no new data is
received.
If a job contains several „ExternText“-elements, it is enough to set this function just

on the first „ExternText“ objekt to activate this function.
5 JobParameter „PrintGo-Repeat“ encreased:
it is possible to enter a value up to 20.000 (the former limitation was 1.000
repetitions)
6 New function „Phasing” implemented on “service menue”
This „Phasing“-information shows the result of the phasing process and gives you a
feedback, how stable the phasing is.
• the symbol “-“ means => „no phasing answer received at this specific
phasing position“
• the symbol “x” means => “a phasing answer was received at this specific

7 “JETvisio” application implemented / further improved

New additional function “backround edit / reload current job”
During the current activ job is printing, it is possible to edit this job already on the
backround by the software interface. With the external signal “Job load” this pre-
defined job can be reloaded and will be printed with the new data.
Importand is, that the job will be sent/saved on the printer only and that there
will not be sent any command for “Job Load” by the software interface.
Due to this function it is possible to edit the data of the current job already in
advance while the printer is still printing the current valid data and to decide when
the changing (new data) will be valid or taken over. The signal “Job load” will reload
just the current activ job once more and no other job name!
The external signal (input) for the “Job load” can be assigned at will (please see the
following screen shot)

Ink Flow Sensor:

If the “ink flow sensor” detects, that the ink flow on the gutter is interrupted, the

nozzle will close immediately. At former versions this was not all the time like this,
depending of the current printer conditions.

Depending of the data file size it happens, that the processing time to start the data-
base printing increases a lot.
With a new algorithm and an external software tool we improved this behavior and
reduced the “waiting time” almost to zero.
The data file has to be “converted” at very first with the special tool
“LJET3_MailingFileConverter.exe” before using it on the JET3 (the software tool
is available on our homepage).
V60.0.01.02 5 DataMatrix-Code with additional clear font as „external text“
Up to now it was not possible to define the additional clear font for the 2D-code also
as an “external text”-element. With this new version it is possible now.

Now it is possible to use up to 24 different “shift codes” instead of 5 on the former

2 “multilingual kernel”
with this new version we can provide all available languages combined on only one
general software version. On the former software we had to distinguish between
several “language packages” (e.g. for Europe, Asia….). Due to the new multilingual
kernel this difference is not necessary anymore and provides the possibility to select
any available language without necessity to upgrade to an specific kernel version.
with this new software version, the “Kernel”-version on the mainboard is also
a new version. Therefore older software-versions (e.g. V60.0.00.57) cannot be
installed on this latest “Kernel”-version V2.0.0.20
the new software version V60.0.01.00 needs the latest “Kernel”-version
V2.0.0.20 for fully performance regarding the multiliungual function.
the version V60.0.01.00 can be installed also on “older Kernel” but cannot
provide the multilnigual feature in this case.
3 New output signal for “Counter Overflow Event”

 generelly all counters which are defined on a print-band are creating a signal
on a pre-defined output, if they reached the “end value” of the counters
adjusments.
This function can be used to increment e.g. the second counter if the first counter
reached its end value.
4 Internal handling of “clear ext. text buffer” improved:

The internal memory buffer of the function “external text” will not be erased after a
job has been switched to another job via the function “job select”. Therefore it is
possible to use the single entered “external text” on different jobs within a job-list and
it is not necessary to enter the external text once more.
5 Function “mailing”/”data base” improved:

With the restart of a “mailing-job” which has been started already initially, the printer
will suggest the next following record of the data base list automatically, even if the
printer was switched off in the meantime.
V60.0.01.00 6 Function for DataMatrix-Code extended:
 the data entry for the DataMatrix code has been extended; now it is also
possible to enter “special characters” as e.g. @,&,*
 a new kind of DataMatrix code is implemented:

“rectangular” shapes for “ECC200” and “EAN ECC200”
 for DataMatrix codes it is also a “clear font line” available now.
The “clear font” for the DataMatrix is a ”special function” and works like this:
The “clear font element” is automatically connected to the DataMatrix

element (it is like Master and Slave). To recognize this combination, there
are two frames in red and green around this two elements.
The data entry of the DataMatrix will automatically create the “clear font
element” (if the clear font function is selected). It is not possible to edit the
content of the “clear font element” because it is like a copy of the DataMatrix
element, but it is possible to change the attributes like the font, ICG and so
on. The “clear font element” can be moved independently of the code
element. If you erase the code; the corresponding “clear font element” will be
erased automatically.
V60.0.01.00 7 New button on the Service Menue => “50x nozzle open/close”
This new function is only available if the “service menue” has been entered with the
service login and is a helpful tool to test the reliable function of the swivel mechanic
on the print head.
This function carries out automatically the following steps 50 times repetitively:
• open the nozzle seal
• carry out a brake-off-point adjusment
• carry out a phasing
• close the nozzle.
During this process there is a counter visible, which shows the amount of the
repeated steps. If a phasing error would appear during this long term test (e.g.
because the swivel mechanic don’t reaches the correct end position), the function
will abort immediately.
This version was delivered only for very few customers because of urgent requests
