1. Letter
Letter is a means of communication to convey written information by a
party to another party

2. Application Letter
Application letter is a letter made and sent by someone who wants to
work in an office, company or certain institution.
Application letter including official or official letter.Therefore,there are
certain rules that must be concidered in writing
a) Form
1.) Manual Form
Made in writing and there is a print out
2.) Electronic Form
Made in writing (typed) and submitted via email and there is no
print out
b) Things that need to be cincidered
 Use of effective sentence,like,as well and polite
 Enter identity (name,cellphone,highest
education,prog,study,etc)
 List the position that applied (according to the skill and
eduational background)
 List competencies that owned short/your profile.Attach
supporting items (register biography,highest copy of
diploma,supporting activities)
 List expectations at the end of the sentence
c) Writing Ethics Application Letter
 Use language that is formal,informative and with correct
spelling
 Use standard paper (not colorful paper)
 If typed use a standard font (times new roman or arial)
 If written,write it neatly and make it easier for the part
personnel to read it
 Avoid using language that is a teacher/present yoursel
arrogant/smart,etc
 No more than 1 page
d) Things to be Avoid
 Apply for jobs outside of your qualifications
 Send a job application letter from the copy
 Accept any type of work
 Use of excessive words
 Ask for mercy on the company proposed
e) Tips on writing a Application Letter
Attention
 Employe applicants must be sure.The company (the reader) that
sure the applicant has something useful or needed that is of
interest to the reader
 Job applicant also state the reasons why they are interested in
the position/position offered
Interest
 Job applicant must be able to make readers interested in their
job application letter
 Job application need to explain and confirm that the required
qualifications are relevant to their abilities/skills
Desire
 Job application must be able to give rise to the readers desire to
find out move about what has been written in the application
letter
 Attach supporting evidence that is relevant to the desired
position
Action
 Job applicant can advice the reader to take a certain action
related to the expectations at desires in writing the job
application letter
 One particular action that can be done by the reader is to give an
opportunity to do a job interview
f) Elements of Application Letter
 Date of the letter
 Written on the upper right or placed at the bottom,above the
senders identity
 Writting a letter is not necessarily preeded by the name of
the place/city if the name of the city has been listed on the
letter head
 The name of the month is written in letters and not
abbreviated.For example : January (jan),february (feb) etc.
 At the end of the line no dots are added (april 3, 2013 )
instead of ( april 3, 2013. )
 Attachment
 The attachment word has an additive.the addictions can
be letters,letters papers,photocopies of diplomas,or
copies of official letters.
 Attachment must be included if the letters is written in
the form of file.If nothing is attached it means that the
attachment does not need to be written down and written
directly on the letter number and subject matter
 Writing rules :
 The first letter of the attachment is written in letters
apital
 At the end of the line no dots are added
 The attachment is followed by a colon (:)
 Between the colon and the preceding word are not
interrupted while the colon with the word that follows is
interrupted
 Regarding of the letter
 Regarding of the letter is the same as the subject of the
letter.the meaning of the word subject is a
matter,bussines,or about something.
 Written rules :
 The initial letter of the subject is written in capital letters
 Subject to a brief but clear letter
 Length of subject do not overlap one line
 Subject words followed by a colon (:)
 At the end of the line no dots are placed and the lines are
not underlined
 Mailing address
Things that need to be concidered in writing a mailing address:
 “sir/madam”,you can use it if you follow the person’s
name and the initial letter of greeting written in capital
letters
 The word “Jalan(road)” should not be abbreviated
 The word “to” does not needto be stated because it is
clear that he address written in the destination address
 At the end of the destination address line no dot is
affixed
 Greetings
Things that need to be concidered in writing the opening
greetings :
 The form commonly used as opening greetings is “dear
sir/madam and “respectfully”
 The initial letter of the word “with” is written in capital
letters
Writing respectfully
followed by a comma (,)
Opening greetings are written in the left margin
The writing of the opening greeting does not jut in as a
new paragraph
 Content of letter
Content of letter is a very important part because it is a
container of everything that wants to be conveyed.The
length of the short contents of the letter depends on
many or at least the issues raised.
Concist of :
 Opening part
Raised the problem which is an introduction to the
main problem.Must state clearly that the applicant is
applying for a job,so it is necessary to identify the type
of work of interest.Must be made in such a way that it
can attract the recipient of the letter to read it.The
length is about 1 paragraph.
 Core part
Must be carefully arranged so that the contents are
easily understood by the recipent of the letter.In this
section the things that are enclosed are
mentioned.Filled with brief and solid explanations
about the qualifications that have been presented in the
opening paragraph about :
*What i have :
(educational background,courses/training,work
experienced,competence,personal
qualities::attitudes,interest,activities)
*Skill that suit your needs
 Closing part
Contains hope and gratitude.The sentene used is
simple and usually concist of 1-2 sentences
