    FAST DRY RUST INHIBITIVE ALKYD PRIMER
    DESCRIPTION: This product is a one component, VOC compliant alkyd based primer intended primarily
    for use as corrosion-inhibiting primer on aluminum and aluminum alloy structures and surfaces and on
    substrates coated with a pretreatment coating conforming to MIL-C-8514 or DOD-P-15328.

    CONFORMANCE: This product conforms to Federal Specification TT-P-1757 REV B, Type (I or II)
    Class -C Chromate Based Corrosion-Inhibitors
    Class- N Non-Chromate Based Corrosion-Inhibitors
    Color -Y Deep Yellow
    Color -T Green (Fed-Std-595, Color # 34151)

    TECHNICAL DATA
    GENERIC TYPE: Mixture of Phenolic & Alkyd Resins
    COLOR & FINISH: Yellow or Green, Low Sheen
    SOLIDS BY WEIGHT: 75 ± 2 %
    SOLIDS BY VOLUME 58-60 %
    VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS (VOC): 2.8 lbs./gallon or 340 g/l.
    RECOMMENDED DRY FILM THICKNESS (DFT): 0.6-0.9 mils
    THEORETICAL COVERAGE @1 MIL DFT: Approx. 800 Sq. Ft./Gal.
    FLASH POINT: 81ºF
    RECOMMENDED THINNER: MIL-T-81772, Type-III
    SHELF LIFE: 1 Year

    DRYING TIME @ 75 ºF:


    A.) TO TOUCH: 15 Minutes
    B.) TO HANDLE/TOPCOAT: 1-2 Hrs.

    SURFACE PREPARATION:
    Prior to the application of the primer, all surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry and free of all dirt,
    rust oil, grease and all other contaminants.
    For best results, blast clean to “near white metals “as per SSPC-NO. 10 spec.

    FAST DRY RUST INHIBITIVE ALKYD PRIMER
    APPLICATION:
    Apply by spraying, brushing or dipping over surface treated metal or pretreatment coating. If used for
    dip or flow-coat application, the suitability should be determined by the user. Mix the product
    thoroughly before use. If required, thin up to a maximum of 5% of T-81772 Type III Alkyd Thinner.

    SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
    (A) Use normal precautions such as gloves and facemasks.
    (B) Adequate ventilation must be maintained.
    (C) Explosion proof lights and electrical equipment.
    (D) Non-sparking shoes and tools for workers in area.
    (E) This product contains flammable materials. Forbid all flames, smoking and
    welding in work area.
    (F) Avoid breathing of vapor, contact with skin and eyes. If product comes in
    contact with skin or eyes, wash thoroughly with water and obtain immediate
    medical attention.
